lacking the clarity of thought, became overly greedy
3 trades on the 6E, overall, gave back the 1st trade winnings and additional -$75.
Will go out for a run, clear the head.

I love this job. Such a trip!

Thank you for the encouragement Gabi and for the Fibonacci webinar link.
I'm just now learning about the Fibonacci and the Geometric patterns.
I also bought the book called the Gartley Trading Method by Ross Beck.

My strategy: I'm using the language of the candle and the floor pivots.

I have the book by Steve Nison, and have been reading and re-reading it over and over and over again.
and after these last two days, i need to get back and read it again!!

The Dream is very much alive!

Thank You!! This was a very nice webinar!!

my trading today suffered the consequence of my last two days of "fuzzy logic".
Today i followed the Russel since we had a very strong move up yesterday, and as expected the market moved down,
and as unexpected i sat on the sidelines! Going over the language of the 13 bars again.

So, today i did nothing, the account balance at critical!

Another day in Observance of the Russell.
I'm thinking of funding the account again, yet the challenge remains can i dig my way out of this based on my price action merits ?
I'm also realizing the amount of relaxation that is required in order to pull the trigger, you basically have to be the Zen-Master!
the journey continues....

Smells like pristine.com terminology and approach, they are very good 'bar by bar' analysis price action traders.

Today, my trading PC crashed! Ended up reading Steve's book on the candlestick bars again.
Will be either fixing the PC over the weekend or buying a new one! It remains to be seen.
My trading account remains the same!

The 13 bars concept for me starts with the seminar by Oliver Velez on trading.
I'm learning about trading from the books about the price action and a good friend that i aspire to be trading like, since observing his life style is helping my passion of learning about this business grow indefinitely.

No, though my friend knows Oliver I'd say that they are pretty good friends. I only had a chance to meet Mr. Velez once at the trader's seminar.
I will ask if he would mind being named!
I have promised myself that i would be documenting my progress as a trader every day for a full year. And my friend actually suggested the futures.io (formerly BMT) as a very user friendly place to start.

The PC issue was solved. It is working again, as good as new.
I have invested more time again reading the Steve Nison's book about the candlesticks.
And have also seen four webinars on the fibonacci trading method.
The trading goal for the week is set to raise the account level out of the red zone.
$50 per day for the period of the next 5 trading days.

Strategy Revision: March 18, 2012
I will establish the support and the resistance levels and the trend lines, using the Daily and the 120min charts.
And do the same on the 30 min charts
Will take trade only at those levels to minimize my risk, and crawl out of the red zone that i have found myself in!!
And will use the 10min chart for my entries and my exits above and below the levels of the support and the resistance.

Will concentrate on trading only the NYBOT/TF-Russell during the US market.
It is valued at $10 per tick, therefore it should be simple but not easy to detect a 1/2 point move and move my account above the water level.

Hi Fern,

Since you plan to trade TF, you may wish to check out bluemele's TF trading journal:

There also are many good futures.io (formerly BMT) webinars on trading strategies and issues that may help you to improve or refine your trading. I'm not sure how many are available for non-elite futures.io (formerly BMT) members thou. But you won't regret if you sign up, coz it's really a small sum considering the tremendous amount of effort by Big Mike and many futures.io (formerly BMT) members to build up good trading resources for all forum members to share.

I'm a struggling trader too and I wish you all the very best!

Yes, I am able to see the @ bluemele trading journal. And yes, will most likely join the EL-section of the forum very soon.
@ Big Mike, does the elite section have an available open pdf trader's library for it's elite members as well, besides the webinars? ?

Monday, the 3rd trading day after my near account collapse. I so don't want to write about this in the public eye, but the complete accountability for my actions is needed or i'm not going to survive in this business long term.
I have watched the TF-Russell Sunday into Monday. And overall 4 long and 1 short clean entries, i did have and did not take them.
It seems that i have left my guts somewhere along the lines of "well, what if i'm wrong?" pathways.
Ironically, was kicking myself in the head each of the 5 times since the market did end up moving in that direction to meet the $50 target.
And here i thought that i did have a solid strategy for the week, take the $50 per day out of the market. I'm making this more complicated then it truly is.
I can't tell what i have learned out of this ordeal yet, since this is the 3rd trading day that i'm paralyzed in taking action. A different approach perhaps ?
My Rithmic Pro trading platform has no practice SIM account, for which i am truly happy about. Since it would just make things worse!! I'd definitely be stuck in the SIM trading land indefinitely.

On the bright side, my Monday story of non-non-trading made my mentor laugh. Especially since we had a pep talk before the US market opened, about the opening range and the upcoming possibilities.
Too bad that i just didn't listen, as he have said that i wouldn't. I am not as brave as i thought i was.

Hmm, i have screamed at the monitor 4 times already. It felt like the right thing to do for my ego.

Tuesday, the 4th day of no trading, i watched the webinars by Jeanette Sims on trading the TF-Russell,
and ended up observing the TF and taking notes as suggested in her webinar. And have also practiced using the 30min charts to find the hidden intraday opportunities. It definitely gave me the boost of confidence. And I also read a book on the market by W.D. Gann. Overall it was a productive Tuesday, however i'm still upset that i'm such a cowardly mess in terms of pulling the trigger. The power of being directly responsible for your actions.
Why aren't we learning this in our elementary schools ?
As much as i'm knocking my head against the wall everyday, i'm that much more passionate to keep learning more about myself and this business!

My trading account balance, still at $548.80

I made a trip to see my mentor. It's quite something to be able to see a professional trader, trade!!

What did i learn ? What am i learning ?
To leave my emotions out of my trading!! It is the most imperative rule in his trading book!!

How ?? Is the question! Easier said then done.
By listening the market and patiently waiting for the set up to occur, is his answer!

I have funded $100 into my account to slightly increase my margin of mistake.
It is quite something to write a public trading journal about your failings.
Feeling quite miserable, but this is afterall the journey of a determinately hopeful professional futures trader.

Three trades. The stop limit was a bit too tight each time! Made enough to cover the costs.
I was feeling quite fidgety each time i pulled the trigger. Guess this is the process of moving through the garbage in my mind. And eliminating the garbage on my mind.

Congratulations on your journal!

In the spirit of our March Trading Journal contest, I am asking everyone to spend a few minutes and share their journaling experience.

A) What are the top five benefits you have seen as a result of regularly posting in this journal?

B) What are the top five problem areas you have identified as a result of regularly posting in this journal?

C) Were you initially reluctant to start this trading journal? If yes, why?

D) How do you feel, overall, about your journaling experience?

E) Would you recommend to others that they should also start a trading journal?

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I appreciate your posts, and I hope you have benefited from your journal. I also know that others will benefit as well, just by reading about your own experiences.

Enjoy your weekend,
Mike

Tuesday, April 3rd,

Missed the US opening + 3hr.
Was doing pretty ok, keeping my emotions in check, had 2 trades, from the 10min candle.
Very minor moves, It was quite choppy.
The 30 min bar was quite informative regarding the market chopiness.
I was very observant of the 30 min bar until i didn't , 3 seconds too late,
and have missed a pretty good move to the down side.
Overall again tiny tiny plus gains.

Wednesday trading day, completely mesmerized watching my mentor trade 7 different markets.
Made a small trade myself, again tiny tiny profits. I'm just still a head case!!
What i'm learning by posting a journal is that the trading business is absolutely nothing like anything else in the world. Complete, immediate rewards if I am correct and a very severe punishment if i am not. Sounds like the like bastion of capitalism. Pure self-reliance!!

What i am doing now is undoing years and years of dependence on everyone else but myself!

A very interesting few weeks to say the least. Almost wiped clean my account again, and the reason i made no logs, since i'm down to $526 in my account.
Started with $2,500 and ever so quickly dropped to $526. In hindsight not so surprising since i really have not grasped the psychology of trading yet.

I have been learning more about the price action, and thanks to @ Gabriyele Gabinar also started learning the fibonacci levels and the geometric patterns.
I really like this forum, ought to start trading wiser, increase my account and purchase the elite level entry in the futures.io (formerly BMT) club

I'm devouring gabinars, books and the videos on the geometric patterns and also thanks to @ Gabriyele learning about the fibonacci levels, the Baby Blue and the music lines holt ema's. And just listening to him calling/forecasting the targets right on and seeing the amount of progress he made after only 2 years of trading is helping me move out of my slump.
And i've stoped making myself feel like i'm too slow to understand and create a living as a day trader!
Thank you G!!
I would like to think, that i can still do all this using the Rithmic Pro charts as oppose to the Ninja charts!

this must officially be the "light-bulb" day!

I have spent hours upon hours reading up on the patterns, fibonacci, pitchforks and pivots!
Thanks to Gabi, i'm seeing the market in a completely new light. He also suggested i start with trading the YM since it is a smaller risk instrument.
I am not able to SIM trade on my platform, so i just made notes as to where i would have been long and short today, and wow!!
I'm speechless! I have created/saved my new platform workspace. Friday's market will be my first LIVE trading day!

i'm very happy with today's results!

we are still inside the momentum to go down, need to adjust the Vortex a bit

stoppedout! -20ticks. The vortex Resistance level broke apart. New targets much higher!
Realizing finally that the vortex is actually pulling it in the right direction.
I was just to one sided to notice it sooner. Will watch for the entry long.

Hi, just curious what broker you are using. Thanks.

i'm using the Mirus /Rithmic /Zen-Fire for the trade executions. The Wave59 platform is using the CQG data feed.
As i understand it the W59 chart trading is only available with the Interactive Brokers
the W59 data feed looks much better then the zen-fire feed. (sorry zen-fire)

CL should fall to 86.63 by simply following the momentum of the hurricane, unless it escapes the momentum due to the lack of time.

Did not trade today. Family distractions.
My cousin is using the Market Analyst trading software. It certainly has a lot of drawing tools.
He was very happy that i'm finally moving above the water level in my trading.
I'm showing the screenshot from his Market Analyst trading software.
The trade was executed on the paper using what it's called the Beck's Symbol.
The CL was very much in favor of it!! The Beck's Symbol looks very promising!!

Had a very nice day on the CL again, +49 ticks,

Trading System and Stock Trading Software - Wave59

have a new trading platform and an upgraded way of looking at the market!!
Thank you for the suggestion brother G!

Hello Fern,
I tried to use wave59 back in June'12, or thereabouts. I wanted to use it with CQG. It wasn't trivial to get it to work, and the wave59 admin said it wasn't ready to load data from AMP/CQG.
Could you please advise as to how you got wave59 and CQG to work together?
I really don't want to be paying for another data feed...

Thanks, Cazimi
