Short week - because of closed exchanges in Germany on Thursday.
Open on Friday - even there is a LOOOOONG weekend...
Monday closed (US Memorial Day)

Apparently only the above special closures today, Xetra and Eurex are otherwise open, this page seems to be the best resource to clarify the main holiday calendar:

Eurex Exchange - Holiday regulations

Have a good bank holiday weekend, good call on a chopsy week.

Cheers

Travel Well

Currently, a significant drop looks more like an 'after-the-summer' event...

Currently, a significant drop looks more like an 'after-the-summer' event...

The price gains (~25%) from the last 6 months since election of new US pres. were very strong but are built on thin ice.
Why?
All the great lookouts to a "better" America during the elections with less war, more jobs, better economy,
more stability in business with the connected countries, "amazing things!" etc. etc. are
NOT fulfilled until now.
Even worse: The contrary is the case. And nothing great to come soon.

US politics
• have not brought more jobs in USA (watch GM's new dieselgate with 700k cars) ***
• unstable government with many still open positions
• threats over the president team up to impeachment
• free business with nearly none to zero taxes with other countries are is in danger
• instead of getting less war in the world - new ones are at the horizon (North Vietnam, Iraq, etc.)
etc.

Western Europe, Nato, EU government, G7, the Pope - all of them were seeking answers for the
burning questions of the new US president but did not get any. The management by helicopter
president was even putting more oil into the fire.
As long those organizations mentioned are blocked by one country - nothing will change for the better.
This can be a big threat to the economies for years coming.

Conclusion:
If things are not settled within next 4 weeks we might see shrinking figures in the indices worldwide.
Just watch the big picture and invest wisely.

PS: of course a futures trader can make money also in this situation

As USA is getting far distant (means denying) to the two important points discussed at G7 meeting
1) Paris Climate contract for climate goal 2 degrees maximum climate change and
2) Refugees strategy for Europe / Asia
plus NEW barriers for import/export

The goal of the G7 meeting was totally dismissed and ends in a chaos without any goal.
All other 6 big countries were discussing on a level of according - but US delegations were fighting
against any already accorded earlier contracts in both cases.

What does it mean for the DAX?
This means NOTHING GOOD for the markets and will have severe consequences in the next months.

Several sources - G7 final note of results of the summit is not yet out officially.

G7 summit happened in most sunny (postcard weather) Taormina in Sicily (watch News).

The very same coast - not far from Tunis (250km to Tunisia) where 1400+ refugees
died on boats in the sea since January of this year.

The 7 presidents representing the most rich states of this earth were right in Taormina
(with nice Frecce Tricolore jets show over their heads and taken by MANY cams of lots
of media) to NOT TAKING ANY ACTION to help those refugees nor to help ITALY for a
better solution with their refugee problem that is several years old and just war made.
Those presidents were safe and under protection of thousands of police men and
military all the time flying in and out. Of course they rested in the best hotel(s) available...

In fact it was Italy that was paying for this enormous costly event to have G7 on board.

Then US president came late to that meeting while inviting minister Paolo Gentiloni was
speaking to the audience about refugee problem in Italy. The US president had not put
earphones with translation and was not interested about the theme.
Finally the US speakers stopped the Italian minister to give some mutual viewpoints to the public.
At the end of his visit - US pres talked in front of his highly expensive helicopter to the
reporters: "I had a tremendous week and made many great contacts for OUR country!"
Got it?
(Sources on various news channels).

Shame on ALL the responsible figures of the 7 countries in that G7 theater.

POINT!

GFIs1

PS: Now finished with reality and politics - back to money making

PS II: sorry US guys - the text above is reality - your news channels might not show you all
