Hello GFIs1

As you have many viewers it is very nice to see a DAX trader make a nice gain in such a volitile session.
Congratulations
I too follow your posts, most of the time when you lose it usually only 30 points. I'm assuming that this is your stop amount, is this a fact or do you alter it according to each session?

Regards,
IT

Hi @indextrader

Thanks for your words.
Yes - normal stop is 30 points away (longtime optimum in the DAX).
On special days like triple witch, long weekends, important announcements
etc. the stops are normally 40 points.
Yesterday we had a entry above previous day range (gap). Then price was
in Kumo (60min). Both together told us that price might not have its normal
rhythm and can long for some extremes. Which we could see in the afternoon.
And it is a rare constellation.
The rule gave a short - with some patience that came to reality. Even the entry
was not too bad. The high was 40 points above entry - so things developed
well for this trade.

GFIs1

PS: highest volume in the afternoon was 14601 contracts in 30min.

Hello GFIs1
Hope you can clarify ... I'm wondering if we have the same charts.
Your 12070 short entry from last session.
The first time 12070 was hit was approx 2 hrs into session, from there price rose 71 points to 12141
I'm curious how your 40 point SL did not get hit.
Is my chart showing correct price range for the day ?
Thanks and Kind Regards

Same charts...
As mentioned - my stop was under this very special situation at the opening / previous
day NOT at the 40 points.

Hi GFIs1,

I do not understand what criteria you go into the market? Where do you explain it?
And why are you writing at 11:30? Will you go to the market?
English is not my strength, maybe I've also understood something wrong ...

cheers Maxie

English is not my native language, I hope that my text is understandable!

9:30 open = 12099.50
14:00 high = 12142 (+42.5 pts, above even 40 and not 30 pts stop loss). Normally trade stopped out.
even with entry @12070 as you mention, 14:00 high @12142 means 71 pts. against. (even worse)

how did this trade became a successful one with 93 pts. profit?

Hello and thank you for explaining. Can you include your stop loss in future ?
It seems your stop loss was placed around the black line on my attached chart, that is at least 87 points from entry. 12176 (area)
That was safe, triple or double what you normally allow !

I've always taken note when a poster posts his/her positions they include the stop loss as a necessary detail
ENTRY
SL
TARGET
Or I've seen a chart with trades placed on them as a visual for easy following, one can learn alot from anothers trading if it's more than 2 figures.

Hi Maxie
Willkommen in meinem Journal.
Gute Trades!

Welcome to my journal. My trades are taken after a predefined entry/exit over
time - always to the 30 minutes. Next entry short will start @ 11:30h and
the closing of the trade will be 15:30h. The rules are quite complicated -
so please see announcements of trades here in the thread. It is useful to
read the first dozen pages (back 5 years) of this thread to see the main idea.

Good trades

Hi @indextrader

Please reread my post #2902.
I wrote my stop loss marker earlier in this thread - that was a desaster and filled up my inbox with mails.
In fact: THIS is a private JOURNAL. Not a copy/paste system.
The rules are defined. My stop loss indication is given in most of the posts with "IB vol ok" - or "IB vol HIGH/LOW"
to give a hint about the risk. That is ok for 95% of the trades taken here.
In fact I am the only trader on f.io giving HERE for free decisions to a trade in the DAX with direction, entry
time, exit time IN ADVANCE. Where else can you get such service on f.io?
All the trades taken here are done on my personal descision.
Sometimes with overlooking something of course
