Yes - this Monday open was a very special one:
Dax opened with a up GAP. Then was diving into previous day (FR) - this needs the special rule for
a short - but taken 2 hours later...
Hope it will produce some points

GFIs1

PS: next post about a tricky week here and the next one

PS I: The point for entry short was 12652 - the upper cloud of 30m chart. It was indeed the turning point
for a short. Let's see

As posted before - we are heading a rare combination:
Short week - because of closed exchanges in Germany on Thursday.
Open on Friday - even there is a LOOOOONG weekend...
Monday closed (US Memorial Day)
and
Wednesday is last of month... oops!

Quite some combination and uncertain to when NOT to trade!

Let's see what comes up and deciding when things get clear.

GFIs1

PS: for all not sure to trade - STAY AT THE SIDELINE

I fully agree.
Those special situations cause 'jumps' where my AI tooling seems to have an issue with,
as we get out of the normal sequence, Mon to Fri.

Expiration, Holiday, Holiday, End of the month

Sometimes it is better to know, when not to trade than try to take the next trade
in a sequence that doesn't stack up...

Currently, a significant drop looks more like an 'after-the-summer' event...

The price gains (~25%) from the last 6 months since election of new US pres. were very strong but are built on thin ice.
Why?
All the great lookouts to a "better" America during the elections with less war, more jobs, better economy,
more stability in business with the connected countries, "amazing things!" etc. etc. are
NOT fulfilled until now.
Even worse: The contrary is the case. And nothing great to come soon.

US politics
• have not brought more jobs in USA (watch GM's new dieselgate with 700k cars) ***
• unstable government with many still open positions
• threats over the president team up to impeachment
• free business with nearly none to zero taxes with other countries are is in danger
• instead of getting less war in the world - new ones are at the horizon (North Vietnam, Iraq, etc.)
etc.

Western Europe, Nato, EU government, G7, the Pope - all of them were seeking answers for the
burning questions of the new US president but did not get any. The management by helicopter
president was even putting more oil into the fire.
As long those organizations mentioned are blocked by one country - nothing will change for the better.
This can be a big threat to the economies for years coming.

Conclusion:
If things are not settled within next 4 weeks we might see shrinking figures in the indices worldwide.
Just watch the big picture and invest wisely.

GFIs1

PS: of course a futures trader can make money also in this situation

As USA is getting far distant (means denying) to the two important points discussed at G7 meeting
1) Paris Climate contract for climate goal 2 degrees maximum climate change and
2) Refugees strategy for Europe / Asia
plus NEW barriers for import/export

The goal of the G7 meeting was totally dismissed and ends in a chaos without any goal.
All other 6 big countries were discussing on a level of according - but US delegations were fighting
against any already accorded earlier contracts in both cases.

What does it mean for the DAX?
This means NOTHING GOOD for the markets and will have severe consequences in the next months.

Several sources - G7 final note of results of the summit is not yet out officially.

G7 summit happened in most sunny (postcard weather) Taormina in Sicily (watch News).

The very same coast - not far from Tunis (250km to Tunisia) where 1400+ refugees
died on boats in the sea since January of this year.

The 7 presidents representing the most rich states of this earth were right in Taormina
(with nice Frecce Tricolore jets show over their heads and taken by MANY cams of lots
of media) to NOT TAKING ANY ACTION to help those refugees nor to help ITALY for a
better solution with their refugee problem that is several years old and just war made.
Those presidents were safe and under protection of thousands of police men and
military all the time flying in and out. Of course they rested in the best hotel(s) available...

In fact it was Italy that was paying for this enormous costly event to have G7 on board.

Then US president came late to that meeting while inviting minister Paolo Gentiloni was
speaking to the audience about refugee problem in Italy. The US president had not put
earphones with translation and was not interested about the theme.
Finally the US speakers stopped the Italian minister to give some mutual viewpoints to the public.
At the end of his visit - US pres talked in front of his highly expensive helicopter to the
reporters: "I had a tremendous week and made many great contacts for OUR country!"
Got it?
(Sources on various news channels).

Shame on ALL the responsible figures of the 7 countries in that G7 theater.

POINT!

GFIs1

PS: Now finished with reality and politics - back to money making

PS II: sorry US guys - the text above is reality - your news channels might not show you all

China? The new enemy for America? Stealing all the jobs? (US president's fear)

Watch a very enlightening explanation of Chinese Alibaba founder Jack Ma who has studied at Harvard.
He is China's top billionaire - weighing $35 billion.
This interview is from January this year held at the World Economic Forum in Davos / Switzerland.

A rare situation after a Monday holiday we could see this Tuesday:
• a short after holiday
• IB start in Kumo (30m)

Since many years I have not seen this setup.
Today's result came out with 15 points.
Entry and exit one hour earlier would have given
38 points.

Now this special occasion has found place in the rule set.

Good trades

As reality shows - stock markets are pushing higher and higher despite all political influences.
Corrections are not at horizon. Nor are new all time highs out of sight. We got a new one in
the DAX yesterday.

Now that there are 2 weeks left for the June futures contract a rally might further go on within
the next 10 days. (Monday closed though). Summer pause will then watch to hold it on a "nice"
level - going more or less sideways.

What is the goal for June 16th 13:00?

My projection is around 13212. Anybody else?

Hi GFIs1, good trade on Friday.

I understood Friday trades where usually in the opposite direction of your IB Bar (which was a bull candle). Any thoughts to share on why you went long and at 10am?

Thanks again,

Cheers
Canozy

Well seen @Canozy.
Reason is easy: No two Friday trades within 3 days.
The last Friday rule was on the last of month - means Wednesday.
Thus extra rule for Friday - as seen with good result.

Happy weekend

This week Thursday GB elections
plus ECB conference (changing anything?)

Next week Friday 16th triple witch 13:00h for the DAX!

Political threats
• US Russian connection - public interviews
• Germany/Turkey Incirlik military movement decision (Tomorrow)
• Katar disaster and where will it lead
• Syria, China/US etc.
• Surprise from North Korea eventually

Outlook June/July/August:
Low volumes and maybe uncorrelated moves or patterns

Roundup:
Stocks are still on the upmove...
Depending on outside threats or other - prices may jump over 13k in
the DAX or melt.

If you are not sure, do not have strict stop settings or you don't want
to move into risky areas
Stay @ the sidelines until September.

Good trades

The gap to June 1st is closed...
To 127xx back again.
Not sure if after this drop a new ATH can be in sight.

Things will show it clearly in THIS week.

This week was short and had a bunch of scary obstacles
Read previous posts...

Now as those are already history - we may (sic.!) look forward to the next
scary week:

Nothing special on the plate - just triple witch on Friday!

As price is on its way up (up, up, up) we might see NEW ATH in coming week just
before triple witch day.

Have a great weekend and juicy trades next week!

No chance to see pattern (like today a Wednesday short) normally working.
We are in the week of triple witch (Friday 13:00h for the DAX).
That means some other parties are shaking the price levels.

No problem so far - things will get calmer from next week on.

As we see price nearing last ATH in the DAX - a new might be at the
front door soon.

For sure the 127xx level is history for next days.

132xx - we are coming

Means again HIGHER margins on the futures - oops!

no stoploss?

Do we need one?
SL settings are well known throughout this thread.
Today we are short and since the first minutes positive.
Of course we could move SL to breakeven - but this
action needs energy for nothing.

GFIs1

PS: IB vol is not that great measure in triple witch week.
Means that some trades are done on the June contract
and some others are already shifted into the Sep contract.
Therefore one should add both to see if volume is enough.
My short view on June contract said that we are safe.

This is second future this year that ends.
Mid year. And after a rally that had not been seen before within 6 months.
Of course price has made some "erratic" moves. And brought many trades
outside the wishful thinking.

For the DAX @ 13:00 the June contract will stop. Willingly or forced.

As I had here a tricky week - there will be no trade tomorrow:
• volumes will no longer be high (had already priced in)
range will not be high tomorrow (experience)

So things settle for a new ATH to kill 13k
The only answer we do not have is by when.

In any case - some calmer months will be ahead.

@xplorer opened a new thread to get some answers on margin calculations for a future...

This is a complex theme and only if you trade futures directly - you need to know
HOW MUCH MONEY is NEEDED to START and to HOLD...

I answered these questions with the appropriate link to one of those future brokers
that are dealing with the DAX.

You may find them all here:

Hi,

maybe it's just me I don't understand, but:

11:30 low-10:30 open=43 pts > 30 pts SL > 40 pts SL also.

How did you survive it, or just no SL at all?

Alex

Hi Alex

Of course a hard SL is always present.
Did you see a GFIs1 trade from 9:30 to 17:30 in this thread?
No.
This was well previewed:
1) New September contract
2) ATH in attack
3) Rising indices in USA
4) DOUBLE UP GAP for the beginning of trading on Monday...
which is VERY RARE - during a Dax Year... (maybe we need some statistics here?)

Given ALL those mentioned points: Large Stop Loss or NO Trade
Special rules for special situations.

GFIs1

PS: ah - yes - the SL setting was 50 points. No risk no Fun. And very rare too.

On a very high level the 30 Dax companies might make some window dressing
before first half year 2017 ends. 12700 works like an anchor for the moment.
And right after the tricky weekend with 4th July (US) holiday...
Unstable political situation: US against Russia problem in Syria, US pressing against
North Korea, GB Brexit and Theresa May, France, German elections etc. etc.

All that might reflect in shaky indices in next months. Be aware. **

GFIs1

** at least a Walzer might finally come up with that scenario

Here we go - Dax is up a bit (not for ATH) - but making the chart again interesting:

Hi soultrader

My entry/exit rules and SL settings are from a weekday system that depends of lots of
different patterns after recognition.
You may follow the thread from beginning - to see the development.
In fact it is a rule sheet (quite complicated) that looks back 2 days at least and watches
Initial Balance (IB) to get the right rule for the day.
That easy.

Good trades
GFIs1

PS: For the trade yesterday - the "system" found the perfect long entry before entering yes?

Things are diving today - under many influences - political ones first.

A very rare trade before big US holiday next Tuesday will happen tomorrow.
Quite sure that prices might dive again.
Next bigger goal might be 12401.

Just watch things unfolding.

Happy trades
GFIs1

PS: Means diving deep into daily Kumo - which indicates some reversal on the plate

EDIT: 17:30 - 12401 already killed - new low 12389

PS: For the trade yesterday - the "system" found the perfect long entry before entering yes?

Yeah sure it did! Tnx man, I just followed the 9:30 rule and was confused, it clears things a bit.

Trade well!

Bigger picture after scary rocketing up over last 6 months.
There is maybe a pause for coming 3 months - as the FED and ECB are not
giving congruent signals about the directions

So having a look on the actual chart might give us some hints here:

Of course we will have lower volumes and more risk of "quick attacks" in
both ways - so some slower gains are still gains - hehe...

Good trades

With lower but still acceptable volumes the DAX was trading today sideways.
Question is: to the UP or to Down?

Answer here in 2 charts:

While in Hamburg (Germany) thousands of protesters against the G20 summit are fighting even
before the summit started - against 20 thousand policemen and some more securities we can see:

a) German's chancellor Merkel smiling with Chinese president Xi Jing Ping about the sweet
"gift" of 2 Panda Bears in Berlin Zoo. Of course Berlin needed to build a new Panda house and will
have to pay a yearly "fee" for the bears of one million Euro to China for the next 15 years EVERY YEAR
b) Crazy Kim of N-Korea pushes red buttons every second day and shakes up Eastern Asia
c) Trump is more twittering about fake news and can not reach any of his proposals for change
made during election. (Even lost now thousands of jobs in US car industry).

Anyway - an old saying: When there is insecurity - get out of risky investments! is getting
more important right NOW.

Of course we will see many shaky moments in the next days, weeks, months ahead.

Maybe the Germans should 'revenge' gift them back. African Grey parrot, 1,5 million euro a year for 70 years. Its a gift right, you cant turn it down

At least the Chinese ordered today 140 new Airplanes from Airbus for a measly 22 billion Euros...

Maybe they forget now about the parrots?

to be honest - more sideways moves....

One trade negative: -30 points (SL)
One positive: 17 points

Weekly result - 13 points
Points since week 1: 1260

GFIs1

PS: No Monday trade foreseen - as I will not have internet in a
special outback place in Andalusia Spain.

Today the Dax reached the upper cloud resistance in the daily chart:

But where the journey of the DAX will lead to is not yet given:
1) Yellen speaks of higher interest rates coming this year
2) Good half year earnings are at the start - bigger companies due in next weeks
3) Uncertainty in politics are lessening: IS no longer a big threat, US / RUS / China
balanced, Brexit on its way (slowly), economics in quite good shape - etc.
