I'm reviving my thread in the public forum. My goal for 2012 is

ATTENTION TO MY THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIORS
With the help of trading bots and managing my behaviors, this is my new journal.

I'll be analyzing my trades in relation to my thoughts and behaviors. I hope others will also benefit from my trials.
2 categories:
Day trade
Swing trade
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Let's begin...
Overall, a good week mentally. One big mistake. No damage.

---TUESDAY ---
>>DAYTRADES: YM bot - Trading bot entered short and I closed the position manually at BE while the bot closed at +$200 in sim.
REASON I closed: 1 hour before session end, unfilled gap, horizontal profile development likely to remain horizontal. Did not warrant the risk of a full stop out.
>>SWING: Overnight - holding YG 1 car long based off daily and weekly levels.

---WED ---
>>DAYTRADES: Slow day. Had to remind myself not to trade, why I'm here. Boredom got the best of me and went long QM above the VPOC looking for a retest of the value area high. I miscalculated the time of day, big mistake. Price continue to the value area low at the correct time of day. Doubled up there and balanced out of the position at the VPOC. $0
LESSON: mistakes like these lead to trouble.
>>SWING: Overnight - holding YG 1 car long

---THU ---
>>DAYTRADE: RB bot trade short - I closed the position manually at BE. The bot took a full stop loss.
REASON: Bullish development on weekly, daily, and hourly charts. The short entry was near a VPOC with horizontal development. flattened before I left to Dr. appointment.

>>SWING: holding
1. YG 1 car long - my own trade
2. YI 1 car long - bot trade

---FRI ---
>>DAYTRADE: bot short (-$500)
my own trades:
RB long = $0,
QM short $0,
RB short ($-400). Mismanaged this, had the chance to close the position early, but waited.
QM long +$100

>>SWING: holding YG and YI

WEEK 2

---MON ---
>>DAYTRADE:
1. RB bot long, (-$550)
2. S long my own trades +$400 (see pix)
1st, 2nd, 3rd entries/exits good. 4th trade I started to lose it. 5th trade I didn't follow my plan. Closed BE on a winning trade.
3. QM long my own trade +$300
>>SWING: still holding YG and YI long

---TUE ---
Out of town

>>SWING: bot closed the YI position +$1,100.
Still holding YG long.
Bot entered a new long position YI.

---WED ---
>>DAYTRADE:
1. RB bot short +$980 ($80 slippage on the exit occured)
2. S long - my own trade. 2 contracts retraced against me and my internet crashed. I ran into starbucks 30 minutes later and had to wait in line too. I hate technical problems. This caused me to panick. My heart rate increased and judgement becomes cloudy. Luck was on my side so able to flatten at breakeven. This technical issue affected me. It could have ended up disastrous. This was a fortunate trade.

>>SWING: still holding YG and YI long

---THU ---
>>DAYTRADE: I worke up too early and my head was not on straight.
1. Missed a profitable bot long (had it turned off) and caught myself doing revenge garbage. Damage (-$1900)
2. QM long (-$100) - my own trade
3. QM short +$500 - my own trade
3. bot long HG +$780
>>SWING:
1. Closed YG +$2000 - my own trade
2. still holding YI long

---FRI ---
>>DAYTRADE:
1. I fell apart emotionally this week. Poor results. Time to return to sim. I had personal events that affected me and my trading. It starts out subtle and turns into a possible landslide. Today's damage (-$700). This weekend I need to reflect on my trading business and rules of engagement.

>>SWING:
1. entered bot long YG holding overnight
2. still holding bot YI long

*VERY INTERESTING TO NOTE THE SOYBEAN TRADES FROM MONDAY. AND HOW THE TRADES REVEAL MY EMOTIONAL STABILITY THROUGHOUT THE TRADING SESSION. Trading begins with a solid structural foundation and order execution - risk is well controlled here, But later on with obscure judgement and order execution - risk control becomes weak. I'll be thinking about this harder. Have a great weekend.

Hold YI

1. Bot short RB +$750
2. QM my own trade +$300
3. GC my own trade +$600
>>SWING:
Bot trade: closed YI +$1150

Emotionally bad on Thursday. I need to be stronger to walk away with minimal damage. My natural instinct to fight harder when I'm down, this works against me in trading. There was no devil on my shoulder like last week. I was able to start fresh the next day. Have a great weekend.

Profit factor 1.31
Avg Profit per trade $39
Max consecutive losses 9
Maxx DD $3,300
*Recurrent emotional breakdown is lowering performance results.
*Count consecutive losses as they DO reveal my mental fitness

This week is about self control. Good until till today.
>>DAYTRADE: Self control is definately the most toughest and challenging part of trading for a living and the difference between a broke trader and a comfortable one.
1. YI my own trades (-900), fighting the tape all day. Started with a bad entry and kept making it worse. The wrong way signs showed up everywhere I turned. Really easy to spot as every trade goes straight to red. Market turns on a dime second my order is filled. Obvious pattern yet I'm still learning how to manage myself.
>>SWING:
1. Bot trade hit Stop Loss on US (-1,750)
2. Bot S hit Stop Loss (-700)
3. Hold RB

---FRI ---

This was a good week emotionally. I held it together. No trades or creative settups. The result is a green week.

Here's a few gold scalps trading the value area low in the direction of the current uptrend.
And a swing trade in mini silver.
