Watched Queen of Versailles with my wife. Laughed some. Cried more. Not the same dollars, but the story was eerily similar.

I just booked a flight back to Denver. I have a project that is starting to slip, scheduled for completion by the end of the week. Just got an update this morning. I leave tomorrow afternoon and will probably not be back until Friday at the earliest.

@greenr, I am in town today and in the morning, but after that may miss you this trip. I leave Sunday at 1:45pm. Sorry, I was looking forward to trading with you for a day.

The part that is behind involves placement of cameras and projectors to capture interaction with life-size screens, and there is about 1" of room for error. And it has to all be positioned before Wednesday for other things to occur. I even considered flying someone else out, but the timeline is so close and the completion is a bit tricky.

@COTtrader, I PM'd you my contact info.

Not packing monitors this trip. Just starting to feel like I am beat, and today don't really care enough to pack them. Maybe I'll get there and think differently, but there is a flat screen out there, if I really need it.

I find it interesting, sometimes, the amount of importance we put on success and or view of it. we work our arms and legs off day and night to meet a level of achievement we feel is important to ourselves and the people around us. Myself included... Ha. But at the end of the day, with all our attainment, we still need to take a break and realize. We are not going to be successful at the cost of ourselves. Just be true to you, and that those that mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind
My .02 cent for what its worth... dig your journal

I have approximate answers, possible beliefs and different degrees of certainty of different things. But I'm not absolutely sure of anything and there are many things i don't know anything about.

you know what I have found very calming?

My wife and I will never be able to retire like our parents did.... period.

Her folks - career military officer - great pension with free medical. Her mom worked mostly to save from
being bored to death.

My folks - Career military enlisted man- good pension with free medical for life. My mom was a career
teacher. great pension in FL.

We have no such future like millions of other Americans. We will work until we die. It is quite liberating
once you face the fact..... and if you do what you love, does it really matter?

My only goal is to get the house paid off so Nancy can rest. I do not mind working the rest of my
life.

The key is Do What You Love!!!

We watched our movie a good distance from our house. Interstate time, with conversation. I truly cried, both directions. And I make good fukcing money.

It is not money. It is a belief of where were are, compared to where we have been, compared to where we are going.

My wife, happy as can be and so excited, to have gotten a raise recently, and being appreciated for what she does. I complain over far more dollars than our conversation involved. And she, was as happy as had ever been. And she is the stonger of the two of us.

What we feel, is linked to what we have experienced. Neither is better, neither is worse. From a psychological point of view from the person experiencing it.

My issues are related to me. Not to trading. To my... acceptance... of what should be.

Money does not matter. I stand by that. But, here is where it does...

Are you receiving more, or less, in relation to what your are accustomed to. In another way, let's say you had been promoted for years, and they gave a raise with it. You view that as being appreciated, or recognized, for what you do. What you put a lot of work into. And then... every year for years after, annually you get your check cut in half, are asked to work twice as hard...and they say as they hand over the prize, "but you're doing a great job".

At a core level, despite the risk of criticism, we desire to be loved. And that primal motivation dilutes its way into so many aspects of our lives. Whether love comes from ourselves, and in the far extreme ends in hubris, or love comes from others, and the the outer reach of that definition could end towards servitude.... I aimed for the extremes, so in between should be everything...

And that path is unique to every individual.

What we share, regardless of everything else, is the experience of moving forwards, or moving in reverse, or just not going anywhere. It matters to us all, and at a core level.

My younger brother from a different mother...

Move to Florida, I can catch you some sharks.

I am so sorry. I have a deadline of Friday, Monday following reallly is the deadline, but it is harder to make something happen on the weekend.

Feel free to still stop by, meet my wife and dog. Swim in the green pool Call me before.

Some day, maybe I come to you.

You are at the perfect age. When you make it, hire me. I can trade, just scared to.

I truly wonder sometimes why I keep posting...

I have no problem taking the risk. I am seasoned to that concept. What I have not experienced, is having nothing to base my decision of value on besides my own opinion.

And in futures trading, the decision comes so swiftly and with such impact, that we cower to the decisions of the masses, at that particular moment. Even when we are the actual majority.

Time proves it. Can we handle time?

I am used to wins or losses being decided years later. And still feel reduced by the nature of futures trading.

Not what I think of as standard catch in Florida. Cool. Never seen one, but had a few teeth from the beaches. Black Tips, I am deadly. Hammerheads, Makos, Bulls, Lemons.. another day in Florida. I ran head on, into the head BTW, of a Nurse shark once. I got into a current, it was murky, and apparently it was going upstream. The fear was in both of us. We both freaked! Funny now, adrenaline pumping then.

Florida has a lot of those experiences. Try Lobstering the last Wed/Thur of July. Shrimping Haulover in a full moon. Sailfish when they lay on the top. Kingfish in winter when they stack up on the reefs. Snapper in summer, when the rest of the ocean can be slow. Sightifishing for cobia, watch for mantas. Pulling up grouper that dare to blow your biceps off the west coast. Landing more mahi than your have rods for in the spring...

You might enjoy Florida.

The memories of fishing are great. Sometimes the experience was a lot like work. Today, I look back and would choose that "work". At the time, I got burned out. Trades may be similar. Fun, exhilirating, a hunt, experience helps a lot.

I asked a friend once, as a pseudo-ridddle; "Who catches the most fish?"

No real answer.

I continued, "The guy who goes fishing the most".

He grinned.

True, in a lot of things. Complete focus yields better results.

We are not going to be successful at the cost of ourselves.

But, most of us are, most of our lives. We may claim a different path. But walk it?

If we are going to ever "bow down", the strongest of us wind up doing it, to ourselves. AKA, tenacity, perserverance. Stamina. Guts. Drive. Determination.

Sacrifice.
