Things have got on top of me over the last ten days - my daily routine got trashed by a build-up of tasks to take care of at home, so combined with 9-5 work and going away for a break, I couldn't do any trading.

I'm going to review the last couple of months of trading this week instead of trying to push ahead, since the feeling I've got is that I am forgetting stuff because I'm not reviewing it all.

Great thing to do. I recently went through my last year's journal, trade cards and workbooks. What an eye opener. Reading all that stuff where you can cover weeks in minutes helped me indentify patterns of behaviour. Life impacting trading and vice versa; and gave me red flags to look out for. It also gave me confidence that I was making progress in some areas and highlighted that I was just going around in circles in others!

Best of luck with the project.

Getting back into some sort of routine. No trade this morning though. Really quiet. Possible setup looked good but stood aside.

Did well to stand aside. Rule for beginners #1 - don't trade unless it's a good signal, don't let your enthusiasm sucker you into a trade you don't want. I'm going to start a trading manual - I have a procedures manual, but my trading manual never really got going. now though I'm going to print out and put every trade or non-trade into it. And draw up some rules for my own benefit - like this #1 rule, along with a beginner / experienced level.

Agree,
--getting back to saved charts and notes, this actually became my monthly routine.

For some who do save a lot of this stuff ( as I do)I recommend the following folder structure:
Trading Journal - Year - Month - day of the month and important remarks subfolders

You can establish the "important remarks" subfolder for each time of the year i.e. monthly Important remarks or yearly Important remarks
It's really speed up the process of reviewing.

Great journal, good luck

Nothing nice to trade this morning.

My family are away for a month for the summer break but I'm at home still, job contract finishes mid-Oct. So until mid-Sept I have the chance to trade from 06:00 to 08:00, which I'm going to grab with both hands. Plus do a lot of reading.

Feeling rusty, should get back into the groove soon I hope.

That's the ticket.

You get out of it what you put into it, or so my wife tells me. Not sure she's talking about trading necessarily, but it applies

Well done, me. The market smiled on me today (not without taking the mick first though)

@bnichols thank your wife for me
