I have also switched from NT to TS. My requirements for coding are simple and in TS you have a lot of strategies already included. In NT8 i was using the buildin strategy builder and it was enough for me. Was able to transfer what i need to Easy language, it took some time but was succesfull.

However be carefull when @ABCTG says "One thing I like about Easylanguage is that you can test a lot of ideas quickly", he is from what i know Very Experienced Programer.

I started off with TS back in 2007 doing multiple pair-trades in equities, then switched over to multicharts doing the same, but in the middle of the craziness. Around 2009 I moved to IB + NT + IQFeed, trading long/short futures. It is a good combination for backtesting certain strategies (based off price mostly). If you are comfortable with C#, NT is great, and its free. Today I still prototype new ideas that pop into my head in NT, but now execution is done on the TT hosted platform.

icog,

you are right, Easylanguage does have a learning curve, too, but the beauty of it is that many ideas can be coded with just a few lines of code.

Regards,

ABCTG
