I am using Win 7 and TS 9.1, so it is not impacting me. But I also heard that Win 7 is going to have an update on Tuesday.

I know the TS people are working with Microsoft on this, but it certainly sucks, for sure.

I have someone I work with use the following with success:

At this time there is a known issue with a recent windows update and the tradestation platform. You will need to rollback/uninstall the windows update. Below is the temporary fix. Hit Windows + I to open the Settings app and then click the “Update & security” option or click on the start menu and the settings icon:On the “Update & security” screen, switch to the “Windows Update” tab, and then click the “Update history” link.On the “View your update history” screen, click the “Uninstall updates” link.Next, you’ll see the familiar interface for uninstalling programs showing a history of recent updates sorted by installation date. You can use the search box at the top-right corner of the window to search for a specific update by its KB number, if you know the exact number of the update you want to uninstall. Select the update you want to remove, and then click the “Uninstall” button.- January 3, 2018—KB4056892 Once you remove the update you will need to restart your computer then relaunch TradeStation. If that still does not start up then you will need to uninstall then reinstall the platform. Also you might need to turn of the automatic windows update until an update has been released to the TradeStation platform which can take 2-3 weeks (if not sooner). If you need further assistance please contact our Technical Support team at 800-822-0512 option #5 then #1. You may also print or email this chat by clicking on the + button to the left of the text input box then make your selection. Also you may use our web or mobile trading apps until an update has been released.

Man thank you so much I appreciate that, I will do what you suggest right now. I will let you and others know if that solves the problem.

BTW Windows 7 fucked big time last year, I had no choice and did not want to take the risk and stay with it and I upgrade to Windows 10... So basically I replace shit for another shit.

mrphr,

I don't have any problems on Win 7 with TS 9.5, even after the security update. @kevinkdog I hope your experience will be the same once you apply the update, but it might be a good idea test it on a separate machine first.

Regards,

ABCTG

Just because I said TS 9.1 was working, this weekend Microsoft Windows 10 update the system and now tonight as I turn the computer on TS 9.1 is not working on Windows 10 as for now.

This is unbelievable again Microsoft is fucking me over as usual...

@kevinkdog @ABCTG

Are you guys having problems as well and what version of TS and Windows are you guys using?

Tried to turn off Windows 10 automatic updates until TS comes with a solution but Windows this f****** s*** does not allow me to do that, they keep forcing this disgraceful updates because I am using Windows 10 Home.

Every morning now I have to uninstall the updates all over again unless I upgrade or switch to Windows 10 Pro as I am using Windows 10 Home. I always have had the pro versions of Windows but never use it, so decided to buy two copies of Windows 10 Home as it was slightly cheaper than the Pro one, I was like the less I spend money with this company the better.

But as usual they always find a away to screw people and here are they fucking me over again.

I will have to do a little trick/"hack" in order to get rid of this disgraceful updates, or switch/buy Windows 10 Pro and give more money for this s*******.

To be fair I wanted to stay with Windows 7 as I had no problems with it until the day that there was actually a problem, you know MS forcing people to upgrade to their new shit.

I do not know may try to come back to Windows 7, because now I have learned a lesson that shit for shit you stay with the shit that is going to cost you the least.

That is good, I am going to have a look at the EOD. Are you using 9.1 or 9.5?

Hi guys this is an update to the problems, MS just sent me new updates today and the update that was causing the problem is not there anymore.

So I update my machine [or MS forced me to update my machine] then after I started TS, TS was working normally and I did not need to download any separate TS patch; Then I check the list of updates there was no update KB4056890 anymore, so all fine for the time being.
