Hi guys, i've a problem in enabling strategy on data taken from 3rd party...
when try to launch a strategy the Tradestation Platform seems to crash and doesn't work until i disable the strategy...
how can i overcame this problem?
thanks in advance
Marco
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
you will likely have to track down what causes the crash. Does the strategy run on TS data? Does it maybe require some data that your 3rd party data doesn't provide? Start with blocking parts of your code until it no longer crashes, then look into the parts that make it crash etc..
You might want to look into the reserved words "try" and "catch" to create blocks within your code and catch the errors that lead to crashes (in case it's code related of course).
the strategy is a TS strategy and runs on the data not imported from 3rd part...
so i believe that isn't a problem concerning the code...
moreover i've tried data taken from several 3rd parties and the result is the same...=(
I can apply all indicators but no strategies...
TS tell me " Waiting for data..." and "waiting for attributes..." but this goes on until i disable the strategy(whatever it may be)
this doesn't sound like a crash. I would suggest to check the official TS forum and search the threads for "waiting for data". There are several that deal with this in case of ASCII data and point to various solutions.
ABCTG could you send me a file with an end of the day time series of one symbol ready to be imported in TS, to verify if strategies apply to your data?
many thanks
Marco
