Does anyone know how to have a set stop loss on Tradestation like Ninjatrader has? I recently opened an account with TS and can't figure out how to have a set strategy such as 2pt stop and 8 point target? I used the chart trader and can modify the stops and profit targets on the actual chart once the order is open but I want to have a specific customized stop and profit target each time. Any help you guys can offer would be great! Thank you in advance!

I know you can set this in the Matrix. Not sure how to do this in an automated setup...since am a discretionary trader.

I'm sure there is a way to do it, though I don't know how exactly but, if you post something in the Tradestation forums I'm sure someone there can help.

You can do this in Matrix for sure if you trading manually. May want to search youtube OSO/OCOs on TS.

Also may want to avail support from TS. You can request support. I have done this couple of times on calls for an hour or so with TS support which has always come thru for me.

cheers

On the chart trader you can click the box that says "attach OSO" and pick an exit bracket. For example if you only want one stop and one target you can select "Ext-Brk - 1L/1S. You can then drag the stop and limit (target) orders. I'm not sure how you can preset these amounts on the chart trader. On the matrix it is easy as there is a small box next to the OSO description that you can click to set your default such as your 2pt stop and 8 point target. I'm sure there is some way to do this on the chart trader but I'm not familiar enough with it.

Personally, I prefer the matrix.

Note that with either you can set this exit bracket for up to 3 targets and 2 stops and the stops can be market or limit (I never use limit for stop loss).
