Excuse me in advance but, I wasn't sure where to post this.

I was wondering if anyone out there enjoys and/or is successful and/or regularly trades outside of normal trading hours.

I've been siming the past week or so in the late afternoon (PST) and have been doing fairly well. This would be around dinner time 6-8pm EST. I trade mainly the ES but have also been watching 6E and CL. Things move very slowly but, I have not had a losing trade yet :O

Thought it might be fun to hear of others doing the same....

The european markets get going 0300 est so you should see volatility pick up around then on the instruments you mention . You can check out a 60 min. chart displaying range and/or ATR to see when your markets typically are in higher volatility mode . After hours and low volatity can wreak havoc on your signals so enjoy your success while it lasts .

Unless you're trading forex, FX futures or Eurex instruments, I'd avoid after hours trading. The liquidity isn't good which results in high slippage and a risk of huge swings in price on low volume.

Caveat Emptor.

Take a look at CL last night up intil about 5 am Central, long slow straight trends...

When european markets open, there definitely is some activity on the futures ES and on futures DAX .... I think it's still wise to avoid the timeperiod between the close of us stock markets and the open of european stock markets as there is not always enough liquidity to ensure that you can close your positions with comfort...

Tammy,
I trade some during this time but only fx. Like someone else posted before,
liquidity can be a problem.
However, I like the low volatility so this time frame suits me well.
