Trend vs Cycle Trading

Today I found myself torn between trend vs cycle trading. I have 2 moving averages for detecting trend, and sine wave for detecting cycle. After 10AM, I got a signal for short 6E, but the moving averages still showed strong up trend. The same scenario happened again after 12PM. Unfortunately I sided twice with cycle trading and took considerable loss. It's actually not the first time this happened. What's this 'elite circle' all about?! It's a shame that there are protected areas on an otherwise open forum. I've always assumed that forums are funded by advertising. It's a great site this, but it's the helpful attitude of the members (who give opinions and advice for free!) that make it so.
