I trade London session, wake up at 1 AM EST, read a bit, walk outside get my blood pumping, read my trading plan, review the news releases, then sit down and start trading around 2ish.

I find the London session to be a good time to trade, I trade London up to 8-9 unless I am in a trade, I might let profits run until the trade is over.

Downside to this, is I have to go to bed early, so i can get enough sleep to be focused to trade, and can't always do things with my friends, but that is a sacrifice I take to trade. I guess its part of the business....

I find trading at night very peaceful. Even though I am single and live alone, trading at night is much more calm and relaxed than trading during the day. Just small stuff like road noise outside, phones ringing, dogs barking, etc can make a difference sometimes. Not to mention during the day I always have some background tasks going on, like cooking or laundry or etc etc which I don't do late at night.

I find the most profitable time to trade is during CME US Equity Index RTH. Why? Movement.

Actually most of the gains in the market happen in the overnight session.

Exactly!

Look at a chart and compare the movement from say early morning until the US open, and you will see that this is a true fact, that most of the moves, happen during this time.

Don't have anything useful to add except that I've found
doxylamine succinate tablets very helpful as a sleeping pill.
Maybe take 1, or 1/2 tablet when necessary. If you take more
than 3 or 4 whole tablets a week then the body will adapt,
and the pills won't work. They are available over the counter
in the U.S. generically at Wal-Mart. I don't know of anything
else that is out there that will work unless you go to a prescription.

I did write a while back about inositol, which is natural. It didn't
help me enough to be useful however.

Good trading,

- Stephen

I'm assuming you are talking about day trading. For a couple months I traded 11:00-2:00 then 5:00-9:00, because after the first 3 hours of the London session (account for DST) it usually died off pretty good, so I would go nap. But it was much harder than I expected to get use to those hours and it really started to wear on me after while so I stopped doing it. Regardless, IMO, there are plenty of opportunities in the first 3-4 hours of either session, so I would recommend to anyone they just pick one and go with it. But everyone is different, so it couldn't hurt to give it a shot for a few days and see how you like it.

I second that and that's the same experience i have too

Thanks for this thread. A profitable notion! I had one time tried the N225M, to no avail! Lately currencies have been moving really nicely in the early evening PST!
