Is this a likely reversal?

From now on you can find the latest version on the downloads section and I'll post an update here so you know to go get it.

cunparis,

I installed your last version and for some reason it kills painting of ECOBars_SharkyPkg I have on my charts, even if Paintbars property of your indicator is set to False.

Try commenting out the code that sets the bar color to empty. That should stop mine from overwriting the ecobars paintbar. However I don't think you can stop the ecobars from overwriting mine cause the eco paintbar paints every bar.

Code
            Values[plotIndex].Set(Volume[0]);
            if (paintbars && plotIndex > 0) {
                BarColor = Plots[plotIndex].Pen.Color;
            } else {
                // TRY COMMENTING OUT THIS NEXT LINE
                BarColor = Color.Empty;
            }

I haven't worked my way through all 138 posts yet so excuse if this is a duplication... quite a good volume indicator...

Level II/Tick Volume Indicator for NinjaTrader

I have watched this before and it is very helpful in seeing "real-time" up or down volume as the bar is forming.. specifically I used it today in CL to see the reversal at 2:22; I entered at 7077 and exited at 71.05.

The attached doc file gives the author's (John Thom) description and charts.

I don't normally trade YM so not familiar with it but it looks like you got short at 9570 and the peak above that was about 9595. So I'd have an initial stop at 9600 and my minimum profit target would be 9540 keeping my r/r at least 1/1. I'm not well versed in your VolumePatterns but I see a HVC bar when your at and beyond the 9540 profit target so right there seems like a good place to lock it in.

Exactly. When you're in a trade and you see HVC you have to take notice. If the HVC bar closes against your trade, then you really take notice. If the next bar makes a new high/low against your trade then I'm out. Unless I have good reason to believe it's going to run (like it's not extended).

Thank god someone is participating! Thanks Blz, you're keeping it alive!

I wish people would post some of their own charts, real trading charts, with HVC so we can see how it can help you in a real trade (real means you're pushing buttons, sim or real money doesn't matter, real = not hindsight).

I can show examples from my trading all day long but I think it will mean a lot more if people see it for themselves in their own charts.

For example maybe someone was up 20 ticks and exited +10, giving back 10. Maybe we could see a HVC where they could have taken profits. Etc..

I'll let the rest of you all get caught up. We can't be in a hurry to get into VSA until we master HVC & LV. the two are very powerful.

Then again if people are trading when all the indicator colors turn the same color then I guess we don't need HVC.

Just a thought..
