Euro futures is a derivative market and it follows the spot forex price. I have doubts about using volume long term. Short term I think it works well for identifying intraday turning points because in order to "make" the Euro futures follow the spot forex it takes volume. But I must say I haven't thought too much about it.

right, i guess what i meant to ask was if it is trading on two derivatives exchanges at the same time or is the 6E the only euro contract.

btw "spot" forex is actually a 2 day proprietary forward contract, its not really cash.

Good , I was going to tell you that if you look in the code there should be a url to the website / blog of the guy who put the indi together . His sites kinda trippy and you can get some links to some indian forums and if you look around there you can find some VSA forums that are really interesting .

It seems to work better on a daily chart, I removed it from my 5min charts. I bet it works better on stocks too, for the same reason I mentioned above about the Euro futures being a derivative market.

I didn't know that about "spot". AFAIK CME has the only euro futures.

if that VPA indicator was created by the blogspot guy that talks about VPA, I think his blog is down. I used to read him several years ago.

Another one. What's going on?

This one really puzzled me but I took a shot.

Yeah , maybe . There was a small community starting to grow there but it seems like it fizzled out . I found some links through the blog and was looking at some VPA forums , dont recall the name but I search around all the time when Im bored or waiting for something to happen .

This is an interesting idea, however I will say that I haven't found climax bars very useful except perhaps with daily charts and even then not really. And for HVC & LV you don't even need intrabar data, just the range of the bar and the volume. Also I have the impression that the GOM ladder is more useful for scalping but that may be totally wrong. I don't mean to discourage you, just be clear on the objective. Better volume helps to identify turning points in the market which means you're not scalping but going for a nice move.

The interesting thing last time I exchanged emails with Barry he said he's no longer using Better Volume. He has a new volume indicator to detect professional activity. I have been using it for a month now and so far I prefer better volume. I've tried to reverse engineer this new method and I am unable to do it. I may write more on this in the future but since I'm the only one using tradestation I don't know if it's useful for everyone.

Barry says on his website that the Better Momentum Indicator is like the "classic" Momentum indicator except that it is based on buying and selling volume instead of price, in other words it follows the Cumulative Delta.
This can be done in NT7 by applying the built in Momentum Indicator to the GOMCD, or you can write your own indicator (see sample code in the GOMCDSMA) to use the deltavalue dataseries from GOMCD as inputs to the NT Momentum Indicator.

ever seen a real vol spike? don't know what happened. only thing I know is, about 200,000 contracts were traded in less than 10 sec. and it was on the ask side. maybe someone with a fat finger? lol.

amazing that it only had 1.5 pts effect. not much slippage.
