The markets already had a strong reaction. Great news for all of humanity, let's hope it's not just a bunch of headlines.
The timing is very interesting as well.
Both Pfizer CEO, MODERNA's CEO and moderna chief scientist sold a big amount of shares the day after the announcement. I don't trust this vaccine. I used to work in the pharma industry and people are so currupted. I will never trust
Yeah, these vaccine Mondays have really become a pattern, is AstraZeneca going to be ready for it's turn on the 23rd
However, even if you want to be cynical - Pfizer's CEO sold 60% of his shares (not 100%), so he clearly believes that the rest won't be worthless.
I do believe that these companies have developed working vaccines but as always this quote is very relevant:
thanks for the video, it's interesting. However I think China is playing the fight to Covid at a completely different level, they are really fast to lock down cities.
In the video (min. 3,10) they say that the Liaoning region is under lockdown because the situation is escalating, the reporter says "China reported 80 new cases" this makes me laugh. I don't know if the 80 new cases are in whole china or in Liaoning, but let's say it's 80 new cases in Liaoning province. This province has 43 million inhabitants.
In italy we currently have 16.000 cases per day and we are 60 millions, do the math.
China is really used to deal with viruses and they are better equipped to deal with them. It's not only the fact that they are more tough in restricting freedom of the individual, it's also the overall mentality of Eastern countries that is collectivist whereas we are more individualistic.
