Even though we have seen a variety of charts today in this format......we have not seen my old favorite YM.

This chart has the EMA 20 with 20/50 settings with the SMA 4 with 30/60 settings.

Note: You don't want to be caught holding around a news event....oil news at 7:30 PST stay clear 10 -15 minutes either side of news.

Jeff, Nice clean chart. I started playing around with Square of 9 and Gann Fans. Quite accurate & impressive. My hat's off to ol' Mr. Gann. I've uploaded my version (6 range - a bit choppy, and 8 MedianRenko (takes a lot of patience, but you get there eventually)), for anyone who wants to put it to use. Hope everyone had a good trading day.

Wiz, just a word of warning. The Gann Fan is a time AND price tool. They should only be used on time based charts (e.g. 5min) and not on tick or range bar charts. You may find some nice signals historically, but personally I would categorically NOT take trades based on support/resistance shown by a Gann Fan on a range chart (which I think is what you're using).

Agree SQ9 is a great tool, I use it on my charts. It gives me some additional confidence entering some trades but moreso I find it great for managing trailing stops/exits.

Cheers
Simon

Thank you sir! It is so nice of you! What settings would you recommend for e-mini EUROUSD?

I'm working on this so I will contribute any settings that I may find.

Hey jonesr9,

I'm not sure if you are doing an experiment or something but...... you don't need more than two studies on the chart. One for trend and one for entries. We posted different versions so people would have a choice.

Jeff

I agree. I have 4 on my chart but I'm testing between them. NT is such a pain, you can't disable an indicator you have to remove it. And doing that means reconfiguring it if you add it back so I just leave them on. On TS you can disable an indicator without removing it, very helpful.

Hi Jeff, do you still have the problem of the bars re-painting on the ema?

Cheers

Adam

cunparis, here is how I handle that.

I created a 'dummy' (empty) indicator.
The only purpose is to be able to use the label item.

I add this 'dummy' indicator to the chart.
Then I add the indicators I want on the chart or use a chart I already have open.
Then I put the name I'm going to save it as in the 'dummy' indicator. i.e. "MA V1"
This puts the template name on the chart in the upper left.
Then I save the template as the name in the 'dummy' indicator : i.e. "MA V1"

If I change or delete an indicator I change the name in the 'dummy': i.e. "MA V2"
Then save the template as the new name "MA V2"

This way I keep the settings and still can access the templates that have been removed.

(I do the same thing with workspaces)

I hope this helps.

Hey Crez,

Yes, past bars may repaint depending on what the successive bars do. Given this fact I find it very important to be aware of the swings high/low and support/resistance, time of day etc. Bottomline, you still have to know how to trade. This is just a tool that may be helpful.

I hope anyone who tries this set up will sim trade it first to see how it works in real time.

Jeff

I just discovered that the EMA_Colors_Paint_v1 works better than the regular EMA_Colors. I have no idea why. You can check this for yourself. So for those who wanted to try the template that I posted.....please replace the old EMA_Colors with the new EMA_Colors_Paint_v01

Thank you, Jeff
