I won't admit to being a master beta tester on an online forum....but if you need to give it a whirl in the spot forex market I would be happy to help.

I didn't know where else to post this question. This thread seems to have a lot of activity & thought maybe someone could answer this question. Has anyone ever heard of CONTRACT BARS as a way of displaying price data (vs. min / tick / range / volume, etc). Here's a screen shot I found 'out there' somewhere. Piqued my curiosity. Thanks!

It seems that the fractals paint exactly where the swing high/low paints.

I don't use the swing high/low as an entry signal...just a reference point.

Pretty darn close which makes sense. I believe the only difference is the swing high/low points require an input of range/time or something (could be wrong on that) whereas the fractals require no input. They are purely based on a series of price bars forming a pattern which is better for me as all I'm concerned with is price action and not time. Good observation Jeff.

Hi Wiz

Sure it's not the same as volume. Volume on a futures chart is nothing more the no. of contracts, so a 1000 Volume bar would to mean it was 1000 contracts>

Thanks Peter. I have always been confused about volume bars. Does the bar represent the volume (# of TRADES or # of CONTRACTS ? ?) A TRADE could be for 1 contract or 500 contracts. That's why when I saw this 89 CONTRACT BAR chart it kind of caught my attention. It looked as though it was actually counting the number of contracts traded. Can you clarify? Is volume # of TRADES or # of CONTRACTS? Thanks.
