Here are my latest thoughts concerning trading CL at the opening of the pit session and the push into the close.
This chart features the last 5 days trading and shows winning trades everytime the half hour immediately preceeding the pit open is breeched and the push into the close that occurs on the last half hour before the close.
Notice that often you can pick up a trade on both sides on the half hour preceeding the open.
Looks a bit TRO's opening range breakout, altought older than TRO itself I believe, 101 trading, nice and simple.
Also I saw you took second "green" candle (in some former post) after coming off the low of the day.
Still not getting your "scalp 10 ticks grasp" and using that kind of slow and large period chart, but of course, you will have your reason.
You even got me interested in trading CL.
Another thing:
You ARE crazy, otherwise you where not here posting trading screens, and doing that kind of effort.
Actually........I did the same study for the indexes (ES,YM) and found that CL is more dependable as far as achieving a minimum amount of points beyond the opening break of the previous half hour bar. Who da thunk?
That is interesting but you would need lot more then 5 days to be sure is working. I've seen many type of setups that at a first sight were great but on a backtest were losing at least as much as gain. Since you have more experience then me though, you may be right. I guess this wod be simple for some people here to put in an automated strategy and see how it goes in backtest and real market (since is not much let to user discretion).
Oh. Sorry. That is already another story. . Well.. some1 here can surely make a strategy and we can backtest as well as market test. I wish i knew enough programming, i would have made it
