i looked at the sbs renko wasnt for me,jeff good job you guys should look at the step ma,also you can change the setting from .03 to just 3 and it will be very much like the allas average...sharky

I tried this but if I put 3 instead of 0.3 it just makes a flat line. I'm not sure what to put for the last two parameters. I've tried different things and I just can't find anything that I like. It either tracks price so closely that it's not useful or it lags too much. So far I like the 20 EMA just to get an idea of the direction and intensity of the trend.

If anyone has stepma parameter suggestions please let me know and I will try them out.

I also did some experimenting with the StepMA and when I got it tweaked to where I liked it......it was just like the Sharkfin !!

So......I decided to stick with the Sharkfin. I am still liking the LinRegColorPaint 21 for direction.

These SBS Renko charts are very interesting.....they seem to have built-in support/resistance. If anyone knows where I can go to read more about them please let me know.

As you know I have been infatuated wil CL lately.....my first week live worked out very well. As Big Mike has mentioned.....it is a very dangerous market....yet the volatility is great for trading. The best thing about it is that it seems to honor support and resistance levels. This makes it easy to place resting orders and just wait to get taken into the market......or not.

I'm one and done for today.....always like to finish the week on a positive note !!!

Jeff

Hi Jeff, What indicator are you using in panel 2 (red and blue bars)

The indicators on this chart are redundant. Panel 1 has sharkfin and linregcolor paint...panel 2 linregcolorpaint in hash format and panel 3 sharkfin.

Here's the same chart without panel 2 and 3. Note the same information all in panel one.

Compare the basic....what I am calling the "All you Need Linear Regression" AYN LR for short.....to the Viper 5 range bar chart.of the ES........the same. Only the Sharkfin is better.

My last post didn't seem to work so if we get it twice, sorry. Attached are some settings I have been messing around with. I am currently paying for Allas average and I was looking for something free. The stepma does a good job for my 401(k) plan where I can't move in and out very quickly. My settings on the S&P500 index weekly are attached. Notice how it is very good at calling the tops and bottoms of the big swings. I'm certain there will be some whipsaws historically. I'm still studying it.

Do you think that we would trade better if we had really big ass dots???

Notice......everywhere there is a dot the Sharkfin has painted the bars for you. So......do you think you would trade better if you had big ass dots ??? I think not.
