I followed the postings from the beginnings to the end at a fast tempo, and saw charts changing over time, altought these are still simple to trade off.
Do you guys using 10 or 12 range charts? or 5 min charts, or did I missed something in my speedy discovering?

And where are those dots coming from in the last couple of posts.... ;-).

Jojo

Regarding #1338 -Thanks Hjay , very handy . Good for plotting globex high / low . I've been looking for a way to plot globex pivots if anyone has such an indicator .

I've been working on what the optimal risk/reward should be for the first 5 minute trade.

Here's what I have for a risk of 1 (10 points) and a reward of 1.5 (15 points) YM.

27 trading days .....(16) +15 days.... 59%
(11) -10 days.... 41%

So.....+120 YM points after 27 trading days on this current contract. (9/10- 10/16)

This is simply one trade based on the breakout of the first 5 minutes range. It's a 15 point target and a 10 point loss. There may be ways to trail a stop or a better target and stop placement.....we'll see.

Jeff

Here is my 5 min template for ES, I add the TRO Buy Zone and Hourly Buy Zone indicator to this, and change some settings for ES, for YM and others you need to change the parameters for above two indicators, I really don't know how TRO made this, but I find that they are very interesting you can find your good settings, they can be good support and resistance lines, and you can trade ORB/other break out too, if any one interested in this, please make some comments, suggestions, and modifications.

By the way, I delete all the indicators for panel 2, 3...., just some MAs in panel 1, from last week, I start to make some money consistantly, at least winning trades are more than losing. LOL. After delete all of them, I just focus on price action, S/R, trendline only, plus I start to build self-confidence, and find that my feeling for the trade is actually pretty good, better than any indicators. I suggest anyone like me, who just start to trade live for futures, try indicators free for 1 week, you will find your self again.

Hey Jeff, one thing that I find helps in quickly determining break outs of a "Time Bound Range" on those charts that I'm NOT using a 5 minute view is this Hi/Lo indicator attached. It is real easy to set up and quickly points out on your chart the Hi/Lo bracket for the time set, in this case (9:30-9:35).

Attachment 3455 Attachment 3456

I too have confirmed that it is not uncommon for a failed break to one side of the bracket to eventually lead to a successful break of the OTHER END of the bracket. In addition, this concept can also work around other critical time brackets such as just after cash close (4:00-4:05). While the moves are not always as dramatic as the opening 5 minutes they still present some level of opportunity.

Thanks!

HJay

Alex123,
How did you determine the range for the TRO zone?
