Jeff,

Glad to see that you like ADX. I use it all the time. Did the ADX paint the price bars ? If so, how did you do it. I beleive I am using the JEFFADX but there is no repaint bars. Also the little arrows, where are they coming from

Hi Perry,

No, the ADX did not paint the price bars......there is no paint bar study on the last chart that I posted. I don't think that would be possible as the ADX is not a directional indicator. The "little arrows" were drawn for illustrative purposes to show the connection of price and the ADX indicator.

basicly BarColor would be codable like this : (with the correct syntaxes of course)

if adx [0] < adx [1]

BarColor = Red

if adx [0] > adx [1]

BarColor = Blue

I don't think that would be possible as the ADX is not a directional indicator.

If you can show directional movement using the ADX that would be great. I had been told by a programmer that in order to paint a directional arrow that the ADX would have to be tied to a momentum indicator of some sort.

for shure ADX does not show if we go up or down in price -
