Skid, I haven't tested this on an 8 range, but it seems to work beautifully on a 12 range. See attached screenshot w/ instructions. It would probably work on 8 range, too, but with more trades. 12 Range limits you to 4 to 6 trades a day, thereabouts.

As far as stops go. I'd place a sell stop BELOW (3, 4, 5 ticks) the last swing low conversely a buy stop ABOVE (3,4,5 ticks) the last swing high. ONLY initiate trades in the shaded area of the d9Particle Oscillator (see attachment #2 for the indicators / settings).

AS ALWAYS - TRY THIS IN SIM. DON'T RISK REAL $$ BASED ON MY SUGGESTIONS.

FEEDBACK IS ALWAYS WELCOME!

Thanks Wizard!

I will give it a couple of days and get back to you.

Skid

I don't know if he was using stops. I know he was just letting the computer do
all the work while he was off fishing, golfing and enjoying life. Only to come back
and find he was down 40 grand.

Well if he wasn't using stops, it was an expensive lesson for him.

I still gotta tell the story of how I lost 20k by not using stops. Will tell it this weekend!

Good information. I'm sure no one has ever lost 40K manually.

I'm liking a 3 minute chart on ZN.

I don't know if he was using stops but I know he was loading up the boat and would hold over the weekend. That's what got him, he had a bunch of YM contracts and the Dow gapped down huge. Honestly, if you hold a handful of cars over the weekend what do you think is going to happen?

I know the guy has bounced back and has some new computer trading system. Hopefully he goes out flat each day and doesn't hold a bunch overnight/weekends like he used to.

Hey Jeff...I see you've gone from candles to bars on your charts. Is this anything to do with Al Brooks? Just curious, I have ordered the book an patiently waiting for it to arrive!

Cheers
Simon

Hey Simon,

No particuliar reason for switching to (OHLC) bar charts instead of candles....sometimes I think the bars clean things up a bit.

Well ....the "WORM" is back.........I missed him. Note the paintbar study on the 15 range bar chart (worm) dodger blue long, red short. I'm also back to my previous chart periods of 10 range bar for trading and 15 for anchor.

Good trading, Jeff

I have to chime on this, for several reasons.

First, I don't begrudge any one earning the fruits of their labor, and secondly, I agree a lot of stuff sold isn't as good as what's been shared here. That being said....

On one of the threads a lot of fun was made of Viper. Someone divulged what the Viper line was with the comment there you don't need spend $100 a month on Viper. Well I am into my second month with Viper, and I like it. Their price model is not one based on greed as many are, and no commitment. Aside from the indicators, I've learned a lot from the principals, some about trading, some about Ninja

I didn't realize you could run two data feeds simultaneously on Ninja, and that alone is worth the price of admission.

Thus it doesn't bother me that the guys who have put long hours into their dots want to earn something, but the moral is don't be so quick to say it's not worth spending a buck on someone elses stuff, and then do the same thing. (Note I am not pointing specific fingers, as I don't remember who the posters were, but making a generalization)

Pete

Hey Pete,

I'm glad that the "EminiViper" is working for you.....However, I did want to take a moment and explain what I did not like about this company. First....when I watched their demonstration of the product the presenter did no know how to use the Ninja " Arrow Line" this lack of mastry of the Ninja platform did not impress me. Second.....their support and resistance lines are calculated from midnight instead of the opening of the globex session(this renders them useless to me) And last but not least......they were showing trades that were executed during news releases and acting like it was responsible trading.

On top of this I had seen everything on their charts somewhere else for free. If you read my post on link #253 you'll see that I posted that I basically liked their approach....I still do...and I still would not pay $100.00/month for it.

Good trading ,Jeff

I have to agree on a lot of this. I noticed that they didn't know where the machine ID was found in Ninja, and the pivot issue finally was resolved today, by a user.

I think a lot of that was due to they started on the Esignal platform and had just switched to Ninja. They have matured quite a bit, and I think they are offering a lot of folks far more then many out there for a reasonable financial deal.

Hard to say how long I'll stay with it, but right now I am pleased.

Pete
