Jigsaw + Tradingview link to Tradovate platform: will I have synchronicity?
I'm trading the Jigsaw DOM w/ Tradovatea as my broker. The two link up beautifully. I recently migrated from Sierra Chart to Tradingview for charting. I paid for the Tradingview's own data feed so could have real-time data, but price action on the chart lags slightly behind the Tradovate/Jigsaw platform data. I also know I can link Tradingview directly to Tradovate's data feed. Here's my question: will I still be able to count on data synchronicity across the 3 services – Tradovate, Jigsaw, and Tradingview? Or is a lag still a possibility. I'm obviously no IT genius, but I don't want to spend money unless I end up with reliable synchronicity across all 3 services. Thank you!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks, Tr8er. Actually, I'm paying for Tradingview's real-time data. I thought I might be able to trade with using Tradingview charts (which are connected to their paid real-time data feed) side-by-side with my Jigsaw Daytradr (which is connected to Tradovate's data feed). I tried this setup for the first time yesterday. Turns out, Tradovate's data feed is ahead of Tradingview's real-time data, by a significant number of milliseconds. It's not the normal 10-minute difference which I'd expect from Tradingview's delayed feed. So whatever 2-minute bar I'm watching on the chart should be synchronized with price action I'm seeing in my Jigsaw Daytradr DOM, but they're not exactly in sync and yesterday it cost me money because I was watching action in the bar when price had already moved against me in the DOM. Make sense? As I was watching a 1-tick move against me on the chart, I was already down 2 or 3-ticks on the DOM. By the time the chart showed the 3 ticks down, I was 2 more ticks down on the DOM. So I was ticked off, lol. I'm hoping there's someone out there who is already trading with Tradingview charts and Jigsaw Daytrader both connected directly to the Tradovate data feed. Is that arrangement even possible, and will it solve the problem of synchronizing the chart price action with the DOM price action? To connect Tradingview to Tradovate's data feed costs $10/mo, a consideration at the root of my inquiry.
I know this is old, but I'm currently dealing with the exact same issue. TradingView, Jigsaw, and Tradovate integration.
As a matter of fact, just last night as I was watching the Asia open, I noticed a HUGE discrepancy with data speed--didn't know if it was TV or Tradovate, but now I do. HUGE discrepancy.
