If you have been directed to this thread, please click the "Post Reply" button on the top left / bottom left of your screen, and then post your question.
Someone will do their best to direct you to an appropriate location where you can receive help.
This thread is being created as a catch-all for people that are viewing my signature, or people that email me, private message me, or otherwise are asking for help but not posting their question on the forum.
I am asking fellow FIO'ers to help monitor this thread, and then respond to questions and direct them to more appropriate existing threads. I don't want a lot of conversation back-and-forth in this thread, as it will get very disorganized should that occur. Instead, I want it to be more in the format of "question" -> "answer", "next question" -> "next answer", and so forth.
Question: I’m currently using Sierra Charts 5 and I’m thinking of actually purchasing NinjaTrader 8 and stop renting Sierra, can anyone answer if NinjaTrader 8 purchase Will be as, or easier to use?

I've also answered your question in that thread based on my own experience. If you have further questions about this, please use the new thread that has been created for you.
Others can say more in the thread above, as we are endeavoring to keep this particular "catch-all" "I need help with" thread to the format of "Question" -> "Answer", then "Next Question" -> "Next Answer".
I recently started trading gain and came back to futures.io. Ive tried to post but it does not let me, it keeps telling me I cannot have an attachment. I'm not adding an attachment so not sure why it keeps saying that. Just want to be able to reply and post. Thanks.
I have used both NT and a still holding a lifetime NT license and are now using Sierra Charts. - I would never dream of swithing back to NT. I consider Sierra Cthars much, much better. - Is one easier than the other.... - Hart so sat NT might seem easier as it is much simplier, but I would consider Sierra Charts as the "Can do Software" mean that no matter what you want to do it can be done with Siearra Charts.

I need help with understanding the NinjaTrader ecosystem. From what i have gathered from multiple different sources (including some posts in this forum), i am starting to have a better idea, but i wonder whether there is an existing comprehensive guide on NinjaTrader? Explaining the role/choices of data provider (e.g. continuum), broker (introducing and FCM)?
Thanks

I have not used Tradestation/easylanguage in a few years but my first thought would be to use switch function or condition to set ticks and some kind of ATR multiplier for volatility. (Coded output of atr indicator times multiplier)
Hopefully that helps, maybe you thought already?
Good luck

Please, could you tell me if there is an indicator (Ninja Trader 8) that plots sup/res from a txt file?
For instance, I've got some some sup/res lines for ES (3102 , 3105.25 , 3110.75 , etc). All these lines are in a txt file. I need an indicator that plots these sup/res on my charts.
Best!

Let's suppose I've got 2 live accounts (Ninja Trader 8). First one datafeed is Rithmic, second one datafeed is CQG!
Instead using 2 DOMs and have to click twice, I'd like to know if there is an add-on , with just 1 click I could place orders on both accounts (rithmic and cqg).

Hi Folks,
I already checked with the NT8 support Team and was told that NT8 cannot incorporate a chart mod I am looking for. Therefore, I am hoping that somebody on the future.io can help. What I'd like seems simple (never is), but it is way above my capability to code/write scripts or the like. So, here it is:
On my ES/MES or any other instrument chart, I have placed several text blocks. These help me remember things and quickly
identify certain items on the chart. These are helpful to me, at least now that I am still learning the chart (VWAP as discussed brilliantly by Jonnyboy). These text blocks/cells are strategically placed on the chart at various locations, denoting certain information.
The problem is that, as the timeline increasingly moves forward, the text blocks remain stationary and eventually go left off the screen. It is a major pain to select each one individually and move it forward to its proper place on the chart at the current time.
If they would stay fixed and track with the time, that would be great. Alternatively, if I could at least select them as a group and move them forward on the chart and then make minor adjustments by moving them to their proper place, that would make things somewhat easier.
I have attached a pic of the chart in order to show what I mean. By the way, I tried attaching some of them to the actual SD band, but to no avail. I am not at all sure that this is possible, but, if you members cannot come up with a solution, I will know it cannot be done!!
Happy 4th to all.
Thanks a million.

1) where (broker) can I trade BTC (BitCoin) futures and what is the necessary starting capital (margin) and required margin maintenance ? Every trade enters with 2 contracts (simultaneously) but with different targets. My platform is NinjaTrader 7 and I use for my trading (BTC futures) my fully automatic strategy (coded by me). This strategy is extremely profitable. I exclude NinjaTrader brokerage for other reasons.
2) Collective 2 demands $400K (!!!) for such a trade (I have written proofs about this demand). This is an astronomical margin. I dont know why these guys are doing this (BTW I have bad experience with these guys - they dont tell the truth).
3) Is there any other company (like Collective 2) via which I can do the above trading for BTC futures ?
4) I am a trader && Trading systems developer for more than 20 years.
Any reply will be much appreciated.

I have a legal question and need a desperate help, I agreed to a Mentor for a year membership of $--K/month on mentoring and now I figured that he is just hustling the group of his students, so I bailed out after Three months. Now he is threatening to sue me and garnish the rest of amount on my income and property. He claimed to be really rich and his group can move the market and giving directions where the market (ES mini) will do, and I start noticing he got images/pictures trades that is fake or scripted when it is all shown as making money (so basically SIM trade and images it as his live trades). I try to follow it in SIM to copy and practice and its impossible to follow all his winning. Does any traders got this type of experience, want to know, how can I protect myself from him in the court just in case. I only agreed on his website and leave my Credit Card in the file for monthly due, CC is now closed and I am only trading since last March when Covid-19 starts. Thank you for any advice, please help me...

This causes problems when a ZigZag line extends off the side of the chart: the chart's y-axis is automatically scaled to include the whole ZigZag line, even though only a part of it is visible.
This means the price action is compressed into a smaller-than-necessary part of the chart, i.e. it is compressed vertically. If the ZigZag line is a long one this compression can be severe.
The only workaround I have is to double-click the offending ZigZag line and uncheck its "Auto scale" option. The chart then re-scales so the prices aren't compressed.
How can Price Action Swing be set up so it does not enable the "Auto scale" option on its ZigZag lines please?

I use Tick Charts in NinjaTrader 8 for Forex currency pairs.
I also use the PASPro indicator.
PASPro won't show on a chart for certain combinations of ticks per bar and currencies.
For example, PASPro won't display on a 100-tick chart of the GBPUSD. It will display at 75 ticks per bar, and at 150 ticks per bar. In other words changing the Tick setting on the GBPUSD chart from 100 to something else causes PASPro to appear on the chart.
Sometimes this effect can be changed by modifying the number of days loaded in NinjaTrader, but this is also a problem, as having to load many days when one is displaying short-term charts is slow in both loading and chart calculation.
How can I fix this please?

I am trying to download market depth events through Ninjatrader custom code that calls OnMarketDepth event handler. My intention is to carryout offline research to understand dynamics order book by analyzing Add and Cancel order events. I have come across various posts on this forum that employs OnMarketDepth event handler to get market depth data but I could not find any example where number of cancelled volume is calculated. I tried using Operation.Remove option to look for cancelled order but it looks like this option is meant for situation where entire order book level needs to be removed from market depth.
I would appreciate if someone can help me pointing in right direction.

Hi Mike, it's been a while since I was here. I have been struggling as a trader for five years now and I decided to take a break, and go back to the drawing board and fortunately learned a lot and continue to.
I actively participate in the FX market(day trading) and this year has been good coz now I understand how FX moves and what to look out for - I mean in terms of fundamentals and sentiment and I have been using this approach quite well, that is I get to have winning trades which I actually understand why they worked and losing trades which I also understand why they didn't. I have been doing this on demo but regardless of this I am still not profitable overall and I think my risk management is a bit off. I was wondering whether I can send you my trading report/statement so that u or anyone who's experienced can have a look and advice accordingly. I intend to join a prop once I tackle the current challenge.
