i do simple trend trading and identification like this (see picture)
a trend has an correction / consolidation from 2 to 3 and a fast move from 3 to 2.
in a higher timeframe you have a correction you are between 2 to 3. so look in a smaller zone and you will see a new trend.
that is trend trading for me. as support i take mml, guppy mma and guppy consolidation filter see pics.

i forget if you see in this pic.
each 34 pointo bar/brick is a trend in a big trend, if you look in smaller frames...
on higher frames you can better identifier trends.
