Welcome to futures io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

What about in the gray area above Trader's edge?
=========================================

If this is real important to you, you can use a text to speech
site to convert the ones you want to audio. Some of these
one-liners are useful but many are not. You might want to
use this audio idea for something that would be an introduction
to new people. I'm sure it will all work out.

Quotes from the movie just released: Money Never Sleeps

If it weren't for people who took risks, where would we be in this world?

It's not about the money - It's about the game.

...the one thing I learned in jail is that money is not the prime asset in life. Time is.

===============================================================

from the movie Wall Street:

It's not a question of enough, pal. It's a Zero Sum game somebody wins, somebody loses. Money itself isn't lost or made, it's simply transferred from one perception to another. Like magic.

===============================================================

from the movie Trading Places:

Think big, think positive...Fear? That's the other guy's problem.

===============================================================

Don't know if you found a place for all the quotes. I think the people most interested
are those that are reading this thread. Another way of doing this is to create a separate
permanent thread that people can read to see the different quotes about trading, risk,
chance, etc. It's all up to you of course. (No need to reply.)

I've made this a sticky thread so it shows up at the top of the Traders Hideout forum.

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

So are we still (ideally) supposed to post about trading only?

I don't know if I really have an opinion or not, but trading encompasses
many subjects. I don't have a complete list off the top, but,

money
chance
fear
pride
greed

Yes, trading related only.

If you have general stuff, you can post it in off-topic section or in the "futures.io (formerly BMT) twitter" thread.

Trading is a "Marathon", not a "Sprint"

People who know, get paid by people who don't.

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it.
If you can dream it, you can become it.

Failing does not make you a failure. Giving up and refusing to try again does. Refuse to give up.

No Vision, No Victory,
No Guts, No Glory,
No Plan, No Money ......

Thanks
Steve
