How the FUCK did price REACH MY TARGET YET DIDN'T GET FILLED. I don't usually get emotional but this pissed me off to NO FUCKING END because if that happened my trading day would have been over. This is ES BTW!!! Which makes even less sense!!! So please someone calm my mind, thank you very much
Also I know this is probably a newbie question so please feel free to roast me if you wish (FIFO)
This is easy to explain, if you enter a limit-order, you are in a queue(FIFO = first in first out) and if not that many contracts (which had their order in before you) are traded, you get no fill, this is how it works.
In some instance you queue spot might be at the end of a queue, price might hit your price but the whole queue didn't get all filled before it went in diff direction. Or there might be an iceberg order in front you so the price couldn't reach your order in time.
It's completely understandable to feel upset when something important does not go well.
It's understandable to blow up, too.
But please restrain your expression of your frustration. We are not prudes or the language police, but respect for others and how they will take your language is a part of the basic civility that is expected on the forum.
Your question is important, because traders need to understand that the fact that price reaches the level of their order does not guarantee a fill. You will only get filled if there are unmatched orders on the other side available to match against your order, which there may not be.
