Thinking about building a algorithmic trader from the ground up - having never done this before. Would trade futures / e-mini.
Is there anyone who has "been there and done that" who can provide consultation / advice around all the practicalities - e.g., where is best place to get streaming tick data, is there deployment styles for the bot / deployment platforms that are particularly beneficial, what pitfalls to look out for when connecting into broker api, which broker to go with for this type of trading, etc.?
Basically looking for someone who has walked this path a few times before and knows the potholes and speed traps to look out for.
