I use OneNote between my computer and iPad. The notebook is in the cloud so it syncs whenever a change is made on either device. OneNote allows me to take written notes on my iPad and then save screenshots and on my computer or iPad.

To me it’s the best of the both worlds. A written journal with screenshots.

Robert

I use a written journal for my pre market analysis like levels, news, vol ect
I use two different set's on google sheets
1) if for my daily profit ( its just a big calendar)
2) I have all my recorded info broken down into a few different sheets in one
*my journal
*my daily goals
*my weekly summary
*my ECM, this gets filled out every 15 minutes

I also keep pictures of all my trades saved to my google drive & my pictures folder broken down into months

Nice!

Its a lot to keep track of and at times its a pain in the ass but it helps and its what works for me. If I was to re do it I would make everything in one google sheet and make a spot to put the pictures of my trades next to my journal entry.

but thats another project for another day

Journaling can be a pain. I need to find a way to streamline this process in the best possible way - both in terms of efficiency when doing it AND learning purposes (both in the present and for review later on).

I'm questioning how much is actually useful to spend time writing down.

Since we're on the subject - do you all annotate charts with your daily trades?

I wish that part could be automated. Maybe I'm just retarded, but I feel Ninja's plots of trades are hard to read. So I annotate by hand. Since I don't have that many trades on average per day, it's usually fine, but it's an added burden in terms of time.

In addition to this, I usually annotate charts for the entire day after the close.

It takes time.

right click your chart and go to data series scroll down to plot executions and select text and market then press apply

I'm aware of that functionality. But as I said - I find them hard to read and messy. I can use them as assistance when plotting manually though.

Is it only me who dislike those plots?

Pile on more contracts and it gets worse...

I find the Trade Performance Report helpful. NT8 New/Trade Performance/Trades right click a trade, choose Chart. Plots Green or Red lines on a 1 min chart of your trades.

Still a bit mess as you say but the lines help I think.

Hi, Ron,

That's actually quite an improvement. The lines do help connect the dots a bit. I suppose it can still get messy, but now it's actually understandable.

Many thanks!
