Webinar: Benefits of Trading the Micro E-Minis w/Stage 5 Trading & CME Group
Well i think i was the only "poor" who is waiting for the Micro Futures (j/k with the word of "poor) but in my point of view, if YM MICRO is the same as the YM with volatility, comission cost 1/10, etc... but just 1/10 cheaper... that is great because now i can trade with a few contracts and manage each contract for different targets.
Tomorrow is going to be another Webinar at the CME Group website, but for be honest i think the only way that we can know the truth.. is just wait for that market open.
I thought these actually might be a way for me to try swing trading or trying some kind of strategy that has a longer timeframe than my usual trades. However the potential slippage and lack of liquidity makes me scared even on an instrument that's $0.50-$1.25/tick. XD
You could use a mix of these with SPY or QQQ to express your trade.
I would think these will either be a smashing quick success or a total illiquid failure. I am not looking to trade them until that is settled but I am hoping these are a success.
Risk management wise, if I can't eat a 50% loss on any single trade then to me that trade is too large. Even at that I tend to think about what happens if this one trade goes to zero and I would prefer to be able to eat that.
I used M6E to learn how to swing trade holding trades over multiple days. With 20 market makers and the attraction I see these being a success. MES will allow smaller traders to get a taste of live trading with 1/10 the leverage and risk.
Of course not 50% of a trading account on one trade.
I mean in the sense of like the micro S&P, if you are prepared to lose $7k on that one contract then there is nothing scary about it.
If it is scary then even one contract is still too big. You can just trade SPY instead.
