Hi!

I got myself a Stream Deck for Christmas

I so far managed to link some NT8 hotkeys and pictures to the buttons.

I have yet to figure out how to pre-determine the asset class I want to trade through a macro/hotkey.
For the moment this is not yet operational for me, but I am working on binding "custom orders" keys.

If anyone has any experience and tips on good Hotkeys to use, or programs that can compliment my Stream Deck with NT8, please let me know

How is your Stream Deck project going? Were you able to solve the asset class selection problem? How do you protect against accidentally pressing a button and triggering an order? Do you have a modifier button programmed to be held down while you press a buy/sell order buttons? I think this is a great idea especially for scalping.

Hi,

i had bought the stream deck too right then as it was available ( My Notes back then). After running it a while and adding function linkage to NT7, i had refused to use it. The target idea is quite good but i wasn't comfortable with the tactile force and the response and had fear regarding unwanted key bounces when pressing. The key response is much related to the point (corner, center of the key) you press. If it is in the corner the whole key is tilted. I had noticed that not every key press was recognised. It's not comparable with a normal keyboard key.

Are you comfortable with the key press behaviour?

Hint: With NinjaTrader Script you can add a shortcut to any of your MenuItems (context menu / third-party AddOns entries also). Then you can add these in your stream deck configuration. I had done this to link my MTPredictor functions to the stream deck.

Code
		protected void AddMTPShortCuts()
		{
			ToolStripItemCollection TSItems = ChartControl.ContextMenuStrip.Items;
			foreach (ToolStripItem m in TSItems)
			{
				if(m is ToolStripMenuItem)
				{
					ToolStripMenuItem MItem = (ToolStripMenuItem) m;
					if (MItem.Text == "Clear All")
					{
						MItem.ShortcutKeys = Keys.F8;
					}
					if (MItem.Text == "Analysis")
					{
						MItem.ShortcutKeys = Keys.F9;
					}
					if (MItem.Text == "Risk Reward")
					{
						MItem.ShortcutKeys = Keys.F10;
					}
					//if (MItem.Text == "EW Intermediate")
					//{
					//	MItem.ShortcutKeys = Keys.F11;
					//}
					if (MItem.Text == "Decision Point")
					{
						MItem.ShortcutKeys = Keys.F11;
					}
					if (MItem.Text == "Execute Trade")
					{
						MItem.ShortcutKeys = Keys.F12;
					}
				}
			}
		}
Regards,
Koepisch

@dph1,

How is the Stream Deck going? I was looking at that vs the Loupedeck Live.

I also looked at Corsairs iCUE Nexus Commander, but the reviews are horrible on the screen viewing angles among other things.

Last, there is Touch Portal. I am still looking into that one. Basically, you can take an old tablet or phone and then use their software and create your own macros on the touch screen. It has free software that connects the mobile device and your desktop so they communicate with each other.

This video compares Touch Portal and Stream Deck:

that steam deck looks awesome.

I always said that Ninja needs WAY WAY MORE HOTKEYS

Has anyone tried the KeyboardTrader -- execution platform. It is not a trading system per say. It is just an execution and order management system.

I went with the stream deck xl. I didn't want to be restricted to 15 buttons on one panel and then find out i needed more. It was pricey in cdn dollars but i have wanted this functionality for years.

The youtube video button pauses any current video playing so the video sound is not transmitted over the phone when the phone rings.

The second column of buttons are normal hotkeys in @NinjaTrader 8.

The up down arrows in the third column move the chart up or down as long as the cursor does not click on an indicator.

Damn, big crash & carnage in the daytona 500 just now.

The 12 buttons on the right turn on and off 6 strategies i programmed in Autohotkey (https://www.autohotkey.com/) which in turn puts the cursor in the proper place and click in @NinjaTrader to enable & disable the appropriate strategy.

I think traders have been requesting @NinjaTrader to include some hotkeys for strategies since 2011 (10 years!!!) but I am tired of holding my breath. I am getting too old. So this is not the cleanest solution - but it works.

The whole idea behind this functionality is so i can focus on the price action and not worry if my cursor is hovering over the strategy enable/disable box which is slightly larger than 1/8 of an inch.

And the button in the bottom left of the panel takes a snapshot of the chart for later consideration and stores it on the hard drive.

This is my initial thrust in this direction and I may make small adjustments as i learn how to use autohotkey better (like where to store snapshots instead of the default ninja folder) but it is good enough for a start.

And the top left button is a folder button that opens another folder giving you access to another profile containing another 32 buttons one of which is a return button to this profile. So it gives you an additional 31 buttons one of which can take you to a third folder and so on....

Quite interesting, I noticed that recently the platform ProRealtime also offers a stream deck very similar to that of elgato. It is already setup for the platform. https://www.prorealtime.com/en/stream-deck

I never tried it because I would be scared of any mechanical issue with the keys.
If a button get stuck it might send the same signal again and again.
