I'm a beginner and been having difficulties to figure out how to execute the trailstoplimit order in Tos. Could someone please show me how to use it correctly? Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I just complained to them via the message chat in TOS about my stop limit orders and they said I was "FULLY" set up
for real time trading data. I had to go back into website account and subscribe to Level 2 quotes and they said
that would do it. I haven't had time to check if it did though(I work full time at another job)
Turn off auto send. If there is an order template selected already: select the factory template called Single. Right-click the chart where you want to sell > select Sell > Single. in the Order Confirm Dialog, click Edit > in the Order Entry window under Order, click LIMIT and change to TRAILSTOPLIMIT > Set price, offset type and amount, trigger type etc. To see more details about these settings, click the gear icon at the right.
If you want to make an entry order and trail stop limit exit at the same time: Select the order template called TRG w/ bracket > in the Order Entry window you'll get a limit entry and 2 exits in an OCO configuration. You can delete the limit exit if you want. Repeat the steps for setting up the TSL like you want it.
Below that, you can click the floppy disk icon to save a template which will appear in the right-click menu the next time. Be careful using the templates that are generated from chart clicks. The software does not make the automatic distinction for stop and limit entries like it does when clicking in the DOM. If you want a buy stop entry to rest above the market, you have to adjust it each time for price and type, it thinks you're submitting a limit buy and just gives you an instant fill because you've specified a limit order above the market.
