  • We firmly believe in and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, we can help you find it.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

New Mac Friendly Charting Platform?

I'm a newbie looking for a better Mac friendly charting platform. I use TOS currently and I think I've outgrown it. I execute trades currently through IB, although I'm not married to IB, just looking for new options for charting (and data I guess?). A newbie to getting into specific charting. Thanks

TOS is one of the most powerful and intuitive platforms as far as I know. Is there any specific reason why you don't like TOS? I cannot find better choices other than TOS...

I'm a Mac guy all the way, and MotiveWave is my bread and butter! MotiveWave is a beautiful charting platform, but it's very pricey. Well worth it if you're into Elliott Wave or Gann analysis. They have cheaper options to buy just a few modules, but you should really go all in IMO.

I also use NT8 through Parallels, so if you want to try something else Windows-based, consider something like Parallels.

I normally either use an online charting system like xstation5 which is useful for me at least because I can access my analysis from multiple computers but I also used parallel for some time before my Mac crashed and deleted everything off my commuter (hopefully not related to the parallels app lol) it worked well and I had metatrader on there as I think thats the best charting platform because of it's popularity.

Since you guys mentioned web-based, I suggest taking a look at the CQG Desktop.

Thanks,

ive used TOS and omg it was soooooo bad.... a lot of people praise it for its advanced features and intuitivness..... hellllll no... that thing was not intuitive at all. use tradingview and then try using TOS BIGGG DIFFERENCE.

but for a desktop client i use NT8 on a 2016 macbook pro with bootcamp and i really dont think i will ever use anything else. kinda a mix between tos and Tradingview. more towards the latter tho. and plus honestly they let you use the software for free until u r rdy to go live. they really care bout there clients.

try it IMO nothing to lose.
