Sorry if this is a noob questions but I am brand new to multicharts and I'm just trying to get it configured for some basic charting/analysis with TWS.
Is it possible to get historical data from TWS to appear in Multicharts? I can see from the logs that I am connecting MC to TWS but when I try to pull up a chart I get a "no data" message. Ive tried connecting to TWS with both my live and simulation accounts with the same results. The video on MC's site appears to be outdated.
I'm using the latest (version 6 beta 4) of Multicharts and build 906.8 of TWS. Seems like it was easier to get NT configured with TWS than this...
IB/TWS is not available on weekends. You can confirm this by trying to log in to TWS. I'd suggest to wait till tomorrow afternoon (TWS become available at noon CST on Sundays) and try again.

Also you should be warned that historical data with IB is very, very spotty at best, and if you are using anything other than minute data it's downright terrible/worthless.
In this new thread I would like to share my first experience of developing a strategy with MultiCharts. I am completelly new to MultiCharts and everyone who want to have a look at this platform is welcome to join this thread.
The …
which is a great resource / thread.
I also exported my data (as tick) from NT and then imported into MC.
There is no historical tick data with IB, so if you are trying to pull up a range chart it may not work (it doesn't with ninja anyway), but minute charts should work ok. If you can pull up a minute chart but not a range chart, then you know that is the problem. Also, every night from 9:20 to 9:30 PST the connection is lost and on Friday night it will go out for a couple hours after 9:20 PST, but after that I can log into TWS on the weekends. I am logged in right now, so I am not sure why thatguy is having problems. If you guys can't log in, you should put in a ticket with IB. If you traded futures I would recommend switching to mirus and zen. I am in the process of adding a mirus account, but I am still going to use IB for currencies, because I think they are the best for that even though their data really is crap.
Maybe some cannot logon in TWS on weekends because of the message on the logon prompt for TWS on weekends telling you that it would not be possible before noon on Sunday? I doubt a ticket is going to do much good if IB tells you that logon will not be possible up front.
You can log in TWS during the week-end, for at least 5-6 months.
If you haven't upgrade your TWS, you still have this message, but you can log in during the week-ends.
