Originally I was going to buy the TCL but Consumer Reports gave the Samsung a significantly higher rating so I decided to spend the extra $50.

With Costco's return policy, I figured I would give it a try. I have another TCL TV for about 3 years with no issues, so in my opinion, low risk. So far, about a month in, everything seems to be working fine.

True story, I returned a projection TV to Costco after using it for 8 years. I had the original box and receipt. The tube had gone out, and although I tried to have it repaired, it was not serviceable. They took it back no questions asked with a full refund! They are awesome when it comes to customer service.

Cheers,
Bullywig

Although Intel claims the onboard graphics (530) should support 3840 x 2160 (hdmi 2.0), my motherboard apparently does not. So far I'm not suffering using 30P Hz, so for now I'm just going to leave it that way. Micro Center, which sold me and supports the Powerspec g403 computer I'm using, suggested a Gigabyte GeForce GT 1030 GV-N1030D5-2GL Low Profile 2G Computer Graphics Card as a budget card that would support hdmi 2.0, $80 on Amazon, $90 at Micro Center. If I decide to upgrade to hdmi 2.0 I may go with the next card up, the GeForce GTX 1050.

I use a MSI GT 1030 card with my two 4k monitors. Works beautifully at 3840X2160 on both monitors. I tried a Gigabyte 1050Ti card and my computer crashed or froze multiple times a day. It was complete nightmare and eventually I had to return it.

Be careful about getting a graphics card with a DVI as it will not work at very high resolution. I believe it works only at 1080p though it may work slightly higher at 2560◊1600 if its dual link.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. For now using onboard graphics at 30p is working fine, but if I need to upgrade it's good to know I can go with a budget option.

I love Costco for exactly the reasons you state, plus good prices to begin with and as a bonus they treat their employees well.

I use a 43" Vizio E43-E2 (3840 60herzt) and a older HP LP2475W (1200x1920) in portrait mode connected to a Sager laptop with an Nvidia 1070 with 8gb. I am very happy with the Vizio and it has Google Chromecast built in. I plan to get another 43" monitor very soon but am considering a TCL with Roku built in.

Not sure if you already got your monitor yet and made your decision, but I have a Samsung 40" KU6100 6 Series Curved UHD HDR Ready Smart TV 4K and my experience has been so far good, but I do not think it is perfect by any means but it is good overall.

I was actually looking for 40 inches slightly curved, 4K resolution with good build in speakers and anti-glare monitor and not TV as I do not need TV or smart TV; I only need it for work as an alternative to 4x20" monitors and to connect and use my PS4 sometimes.

The only thing that I really do not like it about it is the glare/reflections as the screen is not anti-glare, like when I open the curtain behind it depending on the day and the amount of light that is coming in there is glare/reflections so I have to keep the curtain close for the most part when the daylight is intense... And also the fact that it is a smart TV as TV is useless for me, well it is a TV/monitor but I would prefer a monitor with all the specs that I mention.
