Motivewave, is a Canadian, based software company located in Toronto, and I have contacted them in the past about their platform in regards to trading options. Their option trading software is very basic and they are in no hurry to create a solid option trading platform, their software also has F softwareutures trading which is basic also but their charting is good, as are their plugins but in my opinion the software is over priced. In canada we only a have IB, Td, and questrade, BUT tD IS WAY OVER PRICED and Ib has horrible software as does Questrade so that leaves Canadians, looking for software as a frontend for their brokers. If i were in the states I would use tradestation as it is excellent software and it is free with the broker but you do have so many more choices being american and would not ever have to buy software. But canadians are screwed so we look for better software for a front end platform. Motivewave recently sold lifetime license's but changed their lifetime license to purchase license because their lifetime was only good for 1 year of updates and then after that you had to purchase support if the software went buggy which it always does..so people were buying the lifetime software only to find out it was only supported for 1 year.. so you could see the legal issues............now under purchase license (lifetime license) you would have to pay for additional support if you ever encounter bugs after one year...which is total Bs considering your paying big dollars............so what do you do if you canadian? I dont know but if your a USA citizen you have a 1000 choices..like i said tradestation would be my first choice..or charles swab has great software as does TD but td sucks..they have been getting very bad reviews...in Canada my trades were delayed even selling at market so much that my positions would move against me..cost me 1000s....so beware..find a good broker and test them before you start doing major trades. And if your in Canada, well Canadians always get screwed,,,cheers Douglas
The original question of this thread was whether there is a MotiveWave forum, and good advice was given about how to find threads on the platform (in 2018.)
There is no need for this thread to continue, as it simply contributes to splitting the topic into more threads.
