Send me a screenshot of yours & I'll try to match it to mine & figure that out for you.

The Wiz,

Please find attached my screenshot. You will note that my chart is for EUR/USD 'cos I presently trade Forex. I'm tweaking your setup for Fx, and it is getting exciting. I'm also planning to open a Futures account with Mirus very soon.

lolu, I looked at the chart & considering your tracking / trading Forex, I'd go to a longer time frame (155 tick, 233 tick or perhaps a 10 minute). Try them out & see which looks best for you. Too small a time frame & you end up 'over-trading'.

Another way for you to test for reprint issue is to use a Dot Line instead of Solid Line, and you'll see both colors on the same plot values indicating a repaint. Or do like I've said alread and use the arrows inside another strategy or indicator.

Of course the best way is to just look at the C# code directly.

Mike,

Could you or one of the other programmers could investigate the code for T3Average.

It does not appear to repaint. It is in the zip file in post 212 in this thread.

Test with T3AverageUpDown vs T3Average.

Thanks,

RJay

Don't have time to download and test, but a quick look at T3Average I already have installed, it clearly repaints. The code is quite clear and describes exactly what I've been saying.

However... we should stop discussing this in this thread, this is not the place. A new thread should be started if anyone has anything else to say about repainting...

Code

if (Rising(t3Ave))
            {

// Connects the rising plot segment with the other plots

T3AverageUp.Set(1t3Ave[1]);

// Adds the new rising plot line segment to the line

T3AverageUp.Set(t3Ave[0]);
            }

            else if (
Falling(t3Ave))
            {

// Connects the new falling plot segment with the rest of the line

T3AverageDown.Set(1t3Ave[1]);

// Adds the new falling plot line segment to the line

T3AverageDown.Set(t3Ave[0]);
            }

            else
            {

// Connects the neutral plot segment with the rest of the line

T3AverageNeutral.Set(1t3Ave[1]);

// Adds the new neutral plot line segment to the line

T3AverageNeutral.Set(t3Ave[0]);
            }

Mike, Thanks. I testing the T3AverageOverUnder and I changed the settings as you suggested. Trying it now in market replay. Wish I could program in C#. I was a programmer 21 years ago. I don't think C (any variety) had even been invented then. Don't know if I have the desire to get back into programming. Thanks for the suggestions. All suggestions are welcome!

those are the Fibonacci numbers if anyone is playing with this setup. I think alot is going to depend on how much volume comes through on any given day, some days i'm looking back 987 gives best entries, but, like today, i get good entries with 1597. i'd imagine for some very light days you might need 610 or even less. of course volume doesn't necessarily translate into Ticks, so this is just some food for thought.

here check this pic out and respect my MS PAINT SKILLZ. white arrows show the entries. This is virtually the same as the first HG setup which i like so much. I changed the TICK to a fib number (1597) Other thing is I added the Long SMI into panel 3. setting are in the other picture. btw, how the heck do i get those little dots off there?

panels Panels one and two are the same as HGv1. I am going to try and find an LBR setting I like, then maybe give it a few trades tomorrow. thoughts?

I'm just trying to make a few bucks everyday

Check your other indicator called LBR310. You can remove the dots there for that indicator.

panel 3 is an SMI tho. I don't get where those dots are coming from , I just want it to paint the bars but not print those dots. i'm sure its something so simple but I just can't see it.

I've commented out the "Dots" in the SMI_V2 indicator & included it here along with HGV8 chart template (You'll need the T3AverageOverUnder, which I've also attached).. Check out the new template & give me your thoughts. It's obvious where to go long / short using the T3AverageOverUnder and used in conjunction with the SMI2 & LBR310 I think we may be a bit closer.
**** SEE UPDATED POST # 349 - dated September 3, 2009 for the LATEST HOLY GRAIL UPDATE / CHART TEMPLATE ***** AND - I've added a *NEW* indicator that helps keep you out of 'false signal' trades. If you haven't tried the HolyGrail package, I encourage you to download all the stuff at post # 353 of this thread & give it a try! I think you'll find that it's as good as some of the commercially available $3k / 4k packages out there!
