Why not just get a free ZenFire demo acct for data, and execute through IB if you're not sure about closing your IB account? Some people use NT just for charting and indicator/strategy development with a Zen (futures) or GAIN (forex) connection but execute on another platform. I'm very used to and happy with the NT DOM and ATM features though and like pulling the trigger from NT directly, but IB has powerful order execution and direct order routing. Mirus also gives you better futures trading leverage than IB or Tradestation give you, so that's another plus.

Thanks for the suggestion. IB has larger margin requirements (last time I checked) than Mirus. But I may do that in the interim for testing purposes. Not making any major changes at this time, as I've got 2 surgeries scheduled within the next month & may be "off the grid" for awhile.

I probably missed this in the thread somewhere, but how do you use the small green and red dots on the SMI2?

Thank you.

Velocity,

Thanks again for the modifications & contribution. I'm planning on signing up for a Mirus Futures demo account next week to test out the Zen-Fire data feed. I think that's why my charts look so SH***Y in comparison to others' that have Zen-Fire. Didn't mean to be dismissive of the HGV2. Too early to tell until I get another data feed. IB just doesn't provide actual real tick data & that screws up evaluation of systems, in my opinion. Very nice work. Easy to read. I would, however, suggest not trusting the DMAP_Sharky indicators, as they do repaint after the bar has closed (sometimes) and that's not good. Again, Thanks!

Wizard, … very nice work. Just read the thread. When I have more time and Mirus set up, I will certainly try your settings.

RE the repainting issue … this is well known issue. Also the arrows of the DMA (if you use these) are repainted one bar backwards after the turn!! We discussed this months ago when adapting the DMA (for those interested in the details search the Chat archive).
The DMA was originally coded by Rollins on the NT forum. Big Mike added the multi MA option and option to use the signal in strategies, and put it on his blog. Since then several people have added modifications such as sound, arrows, painting of bars, etc. Also more MAtypes were added to the ‘internal’ file. The repainting was noted but deemed not important enough to spend more time on. For what the DMA was used for it was good enough (an at the time those involved were aware of its limitation).

The Sharky version is a package make by Systrader and Sharky, to have a package of indicators with defined presets that Sharky used in his system. As a lot of people were trying to get their chart to the settings that Sharky had thought out for his ZN scalping system. The SharkyDMA is a DMA with Sharky settings. RealStats_Sharky is e.g. the jRealStat_3 from the NT forum but with presets Sharky liked. Some other indicators were specifically coded based on Sharky's ideas. In most cases you can look at the beginning of the indicator_file for information about where it came from and revisions.

The advantage of a specific indicator packages is that when you import a new indicator this will not overwrite the old indicator (with in this case Sharky settings) as the old one has a specific name. Please realize that NT always exports the dependent indicators which are used by an indicator or strategy. The users who want to use it, are asked if they want to overwrite their existing indicators and often don't know what to select. Packages make this a bit easier.
BTW For those new here, be aware that if you need an ADXVMA in your set-up, you cannot adapt the ADXVMA code, recompile, and export. A special version needs to be made via editing outside NT. It is a NT bug that cost us weeks of headache, but recompiling an ADXVMA will cause flatlining of your chart. For details search for ADXVMA on the forum.

When the Wizard thinks he has crystallized the indicators and settings as THEWizard wants them, it might be an idea to make a Wizard package too.
