Hello Fellow Traders,

Is anyone trading mini Nikkei Futures on Osaka exchange through Ninjatrader 7?
I have a datafeed from AMP/CQG but unfortunately Ninjatrader 7 does not support historical data for this Future instrument MJNK (Amp), JNM (NT7), and I do not get any chart data. I can only see data in the DOM.
Does anybody have historical data for this instrument to share, or know how I could be potentially trading it using a 15 min chart in Ninjatrader 7?

All advice is highly appreciated!

I have spoken to NT7 and they have a request list with everyone that would like them to add MJNK (JNM) to their list for supported Futures. I suggest everyone in this forum starts sending them requests to add the 2 Futures from Osaka exchange that have better liquidity then ES apparently.

You can use the template below:

Dear Ninjatrader,

Please kindly add me as a requester to add mini-Nikkei (JNM) and Nikkei (N225) from Osaka exchange to your supported Futures with historical data.
As your trusted and preferred platform supporter and user I would appreciate if you made it possible for me and other to trade this instrument.
Thank you!

Sincerely,
Your Full Name

I sent them an email with your template, cheers.

Currently I am using IB but the data is so-so (random volume really). I am talking with Stage 5 Trading to see if they can support this instrument too.

e-signal support the data feed for OSE, but pretty poor value for their software and few 3rd party app support it well.

Have you investigated the Futures on SGX or SPI on Australian Exchange? Are they trending well?
I am only using Ninjatrader7, so it is important that I can see the historical data on my charts.

I have not looked into SGX, I know they also have a mini Nikkei but i would prefer to trade the Ose one.

SPI I watch every day, it moves very nicely, I do not trade the futures contract, only CFD's, so I can still maintain multiple contracts per position for scaling. I do use the futures data for my chart & dom (Sierra), but execute through FXCM's platform.

I have used CQG for SPI & mini Nikkei and it has historical data (only 18 months for OSE though, since they picked it up). I think you can get a demo from AMP Futures that will give you a few weeks of CQG data to test out.

Do I understand it correctly - you use NT7 with cqg and amp as your broker ? AMP does not support Topix futures for trading but I was curious if they show quotes and charts for it.Few years ago that was possible ( but not on NT) so I want to know if its still there...

AMP supports mini Nikkei index on Osaka Exchange, and it works in Sierra charts etc... but Ninjatrader does not support historical data for this instrument as of yet, so we need to request they start supporting it.
Apparently you can activate saving historical data in NT7, but I have not managed to get it right yet.
You can see the prices in the DOM but not in a chart yet. The limitation is on NTs side and not on AMP apparently.
I am still researching this and waiting for replies from both AMP and NT.

Let me try and clear this up for you regarding historical data. IT needs a server, CQG or any data vendor is giving you level I or II or both, but they don't provide historical unless you use their platforms (i.e. CGQ will give historical data on their platform $$$) and access their historical data servers. Ninjatrader have their own historical data servers for most popular product, excepting the SPI and the MJNK...and whatever else they deem as "unpopular".

You have the ability to save chart data as historical in NT but obviously it takes years to build up "years" of historical chart data, hense the term historical.

Can't imagine it any more simple than this, you either start building your own data or switch to a platform that has the historical data.

Can't comment on Sierra's historical data but if its consistent with everything else they so i'd have a high expectation.

xiaosi, thank you for your answer. Yes, but in my situation I use advanced indicators that are developed for NT only, so I am limited to what NT offers. That is why I would be more then happy if NT supported historical data for SPI and MJNK.
Do you perhaps have SPI and MJNK historical data for NT? I am also trying to find someone that have saved this data over time on their computer, there must be someone that has it.
I am also looking through the 3rd party vendors and sent an email to MarketReplay.NET | Market Replay data download multiple days for [AUTOLINK]NinjaTrader[/AUTOLINK] platform to find out if they have access to these instruments, even if it deals mostly with market replay data.
