I'm looking to go live for a bit... However I'm finding it difficult to transfer money to my account at AMP Futures. If you take a look at their website, there are ACH transfer instructions. However, both my banks do not have fields for this info on their ach transfer pages... It looks more like wire transfer information.
AMP have USD and EUR funding possibilities, they give you a corresponding banking SWIFT address
that is a BIC and an IBAN, this is like any other regular international wire transfer
Maybe you should ask for a person at your bank that is used to talk to business owners, who need
to wire from international, maybe you just got bad luck and talked to a person that only knows
local payments...
I use ACH all the time with IB. Someone with an AMP account might correct me, but i believe you need to setup the account (your bank) information with AMP. Once your account details are correctly setup with AMP, they will initiate the ACH (Auto Clearing House) request and either withdraw or credit to your bank.
It's identical to how someone received payroll if they work for a business.
Edit: I see your from Columbia, which may be the issue, as ACH is a US transfer style. Im not sure if you can do foreign transfers this way.
In EURO as an example, you only need BIC/IBAN and it is qualified as a SEPA transafer (free of charge, or same cost as a local payment).
From Colombia, you would do an international SWIFT payment, if you have internet banking, you should find that option in the e-banking interface of your bank, it should be self explanatory and your bank should be able to help you through...
As an alternative to ACH deposit, I am attempting to use the Online Bill Pay service my Credit Union offers. I setup AMP Global Clearing, LLC as a payee and used all the info from the Check section (address mainly) of the banking instructions in the web portal from AMP. Be sure to include your account number from AMP if you attempt this as well. There is a Memo field available in the Bill Pay options where I put my name and account number; it asked for my account # during setup but not sure if they include this. It will probably take a week to get there but seems easier than a mailing a check or paying wire fees.
I'll let you know if it works out for the $20 I sent in as a test.
Online bill pay check from the bank made it to AMP, only issue is that it took 6 days to arrive and now AMP is holding the check for 5 more so this will nearly be a two week process... at least it was free!
