The statue is part of a campaign to encourage companies to act against gender inequality

A statue of a young girl has been placed in front of Wall Street's iconic bull, to call attention to gender inequality and the pay gap in the corporate world.

The statue was commissioned by one of the world's largest fund managers. It says the girl represents the future.

One in four of the 3,000 largest traded US companies do not have even one woman on their board, the company says.

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), a $2.5 trillion (£2.06 trillion) asset manager, said it would send a letter to 3,500 companies asking them to act.

It argued that companies with more female leaders performed better.

I can see it becoming a permanent feature rather than being removed after a month. The sculptor has done such a nice job and the two statues really look like they belong together.
I bet after a month officials will look at the girl and see how polished the bronze is from people posing with it for photos and then they will decide to keep it.

Post feminism has reach hysterical heights. Why is there a statue of a bronze girl to The Bull, representing the markets, an animal mascot. Its not a human male statue.

The pay gap is false. Women are treated better in our society. They get many more benefits of society. Some get paid very well for simply looking good or selling their bodies. Slowly pushing men out of jobs, any pride or respect and existence.

Finished with my rant.
