You can trade futures with 10k, but it will be more of a scalping style, you will exit your trades every day and look for profits ranging from $500 to 1200 trading two contracts. Your stop has to be within 5 to 7 ticks and you have to have daily loss limits and daily profit limits where you stop trading for the day. Which means you have to be patient and enter at good levels so your stop doesn't get hit. If you don't trade like this already, you could easily blow through half your account in under a month. I started my futures account with 12k and quickly dropped it to under 8k in a month because i wasn't used to scalping, but now up over 100% from that 8k. If you want risk futures definitely has it. At the very least demo trade to get a feel for how futures react... you cannot trade CL in futures the same as you would swing trade uwti/dwti... your account will be blown up. I trade oil, gold, ngas futures, etfs, and options if you have any questions feel free to pm me. Good luck.

The £10k you're asking about equates to about $12,500 at the moment.

Personally, I regard this - in skilled hands - as about the absolute minimum to trade one contract of any conventional futures, and that would be just for intraday trades with tight stop-losses. If you know what you're doing, you might cautiously daytrade one contract of ES or CL (or possibly two of NQ, preferably by adding the second contract only to already-winning positions), with $12,500.
