Hello Everyone,

I am new and really excited to have found this. I spent most of the night browsing around, what a great place.

I am starting my journey here, my first item is to learn market profile. I have been looking around but maybe I missed, is there a thread for newbie like me to start following. I have TS and TOS but now I was looking at RT and Linnsoft to really dedicate sometime to learn. any advice on where to start will be appreciated.

If also you can recommend one book to read about market profile then this would be great. I just learn better reading a book first to have a context

Thank you all and looking forward to being a member in this amazing forum

This forum is the best! You will never come across another one this good.

You already have the Elite membership which is AMAZING.

It would take a lifetime to get through all the information available there. So much of it is good.

I would suggest starting a journal the moment you decided to start trading, even if it is in SIM. This way other members can help you on issues specific to you!

As far as Market Profile goes, make sure you understand the difference of Volume and Market profiles. They plot similar, but display two different data sets.

Volume profile is tracking volume by price. Market profile is tracking time by price, otherwise known as Time Price Opportunity (TPO).

Good luck on your journey!

PS: Check out "DT's Premarket Prep" for a seasoned trader's thoughts on profiles!

Agree with Bob. The two Dalton books.
The second one, Markets in Profile' is more practical; the first drier and more theoretical.

Not saying you "should" do this but if you type the name of the book followed by "pdf" often times you can find them for free. If you like what you read you can buy the hard copy. I personally own a copy of all Dalton books.

BTW- I think volume profile is a better approach than market profile.

Thank you, I am reading the book now, does he also integrate volume profile in this book or another or this something that I will have to look at somewhere else

No; the books concentrate on market profile (time at price). Volume profile is very similar to market profile but looks at volume at price.
