Hi there,

I am currently backtesting manually using excel, I look at the setup on the chart and visually see if it will either hit my target order or stop order and then manually enter it in my excel sheet.

I really am not a technical person, (I'm a blonde! lol ) so any programming or coding is not within my talent set.

So my question to you guys (and gals) is how would you recommend I perform my backtesting without knowing how to code ?

What are your goals of the backtest(s)?

Statistics?
Knowing how many time a) or b) will happen?
Seeing if your system works (and counting the points made)?

Yes, specifically

1. The win ratio
2. The total amount of equity earned over x amount of trades (where x will be around 100)

You don't need to know how to code to backtest or test your strategies.

Is it me or did this vid not really explain how to backtest if you don't know how to code? I watched 1.5 hrs waiting for the testing part haha. Still a good vid that explains benefits of testing and how mostly anything can be tested....just doesn't really explain how to test if you don't know how to code which is what topic was about

There was a post on the Trade2win forums that showed how to backtest through NinjaTrader using the platform's own tools. If you can't find it on that forum I'm sure you could ask NinjaTrader support directly.
