I have been reading the concepts above.

English is not my main language. I want to know if I interpreted well Fat Tails words.

I'm interested in trading CME futures (ES, RTY,CL, 6E)

My platform is Ninjatrader 8

------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's first time in my life that I've read about high/low resolution bars.

Let's see if I got the idea ...

When talking about bars you all are refering to japanese candlesticks, aren't you?

Well ... talking about "resolution" ...

A 5 min bar has less resolution than a 3 min bar?

A 1 min bar has higher resolution than a 15 min or 5 min bars?

.......... .................................................................

As for volume profile ...

It would be a good idea to use vwtpo with 5 min, 3 min or 1 min bars (candlesticks) for both RTH and full session?

Or only it would be useful to use vwtpo with timeframes equal or less than 1 min (30 seconds, 15 seconds, etc)?

My interest is to use Volume Profile to detect support/resistance ...

Thank you

...both RTH and full session?

Either way for equities, but not merged. If using ETH, make a separate profile. Discard the ETH profile after the close.

Commodities and FX products should include both in a single profile.

Give his post a second read, he's making a case for using volume instead of TPOs.

edit: I don't think you make 2 separate profiles with the out-of-the-box indicators.

Regarding resolution, I think he means this setting in the pic.

Also, there's two ways to set up the session. One way is shown in the pic - the data series setting is being used, which is set to RTH and makes the blue profiles shown. Or, you can select RTH here in the indicator setup which gives you ETH bars, but only makes a profile for the RTH data (not shown).
