Welcome to futures io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Webinar: Trading within context (the art-form to trading) w/Brannigan Barrett

Hi guys,

It is my pleasure to welcome Brannigan Barrett on Tuesday, June 14th @ 4:30 PM Eastern US for a webinar presentation.

This webinar is being sponsored by Jigsaw Trading. You can find Jigsaw on their website here:

Jigsaw Trading - Day Trading tools, day trading methods, day trading community

Brannigan Barrett is a senior trader and mentor at well known firm for the past 5 years. He graduated with distinction in Econometrics from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Prior to September 2011, Brannigan was a junior dealer/broker and risk manager for a foreign exchange outsourcing firm. His focus was on hedging strategies in 'Over The Counter' products with key focus on FX forwards, FXswaps and FXoptions.

Brannigan Barrett began on their flagship Trading Floor Training program before quickly graduating to be financially backed by the firm. His trading career initially started with bond futures but over time he very quickly adapted his style to trade across multiple asset classes which include equity indices, foreign exchange and commodities.

Bullet points for this webinar include:

- Introduction (experience, markets traded, my strategy).
- Introduction to the 'concept of context' and the basic technique.
- Context expanded to 7 principles (trend, trade location, market positioning, volume and volatility, paper flows vs technical markets, time, fundamental vs technical).
- Introduction of 3 unique candle chart patterns-without context.
- Same 3 patterns illustrated within the above 7 principles of context-illustrating the power of context.
- Concept of probability and risk/reward when using contextual analyses.
- The future of trading and the power of contextual trading going forward.

You can register for this event here (space is limited):

Thanks go to Peter Davies @DionysusToast for introducing Brannigan Barrett to futures.io.

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.
6)
