Hello,
I am currently trying to find a good premkt website that reviews the majors, most preferably in futures. I am interested in honest analysis of prev. days activity, the ON action and what is the general feel going into the day. Could be technical levels possibly mentioned or relationships between 2 instruments at the moment.

I am not looking for anything predictive. I just want to wrap my head around the morning and get an idea about what to look for as far as possible news, technical levels on a broader base. Not looking for specific trade setups.

For some reason I found a couple that were informative, but it really seemed to be for stock traders. However, the information I pulled from that site helped me see my flawed view of my morning trade and it actually helped me because i reversed it after listening to the commentary. Unfortunately, it was the only nugget that helped from a 25min video.

Thanks in advance for possible suggestions.

hi bluedolphin - have you tried squawk services for that? I use TFX which provides a daily pre-market summary at 6.30 (my time) analysing what happened.

The following is an excerpt from Friday morning

Quoting
ASIA

Asia equity markets traded mostly lower following the subdued US lead, while disappointing earnings in the region also weighed on sentiment. ASX 200 (-0.5%) was led lower by basic materials following weakness in the commodities complex, while Nikkei 225 (-1.1%) shrugged off opening gains as JPY strength dampened exporter sentiment. Furthermore, a slew of earnings have also provided a catalyst for price action with telecoms underperforming in Japan after KDDI missed on expectations and pessimism regarding government telecom sector adjustments. Chinese markets are mixed with the Shanghai Comp modestly higher (+0.3%) as Industrials benefit from recent infrastructure funding announcements, while Hong Kong lagged with the Hang Seng China Enterprise Index in correction territory after declining 10% from April highs.

BoJ's Governor Kuroda said BoJ easing framework is very strong, adding there is room for BoJ to ease more. Kuroda also commented time is needed for monetary policy to take effect, but added he is not saying BoJ will wait until effects can be confirmed. (BBG)

BoK 7-Day Repo Rate (May 13) 1.50% vs. Exp. 1.50% (Prev. 1.50%). (BBG)

PBoC injected CNY 30bln via 7-day reverse repos; for a net weekly drain of CNY 110bln vs. net CNY 220bln drain last week. (BBG)

PBoC set the CNY mid-point at 6.5246 (Prev. mid-point 6.4959); PBoC lowered the CNY fix to its weakest since March 4th. (BBG)

EUROPE/UK

Newsflow from the region remains light overnight.

FX

AUD/USD was pressured and broke briefly below 0.7300 following softness in commodities and the PBoC setting the weakest reference rate since early March, with the 200DMA at 0.7261 eyed as the next key level. Elsewhere, USD remained firm against its major counterparts, while JPY also strengthened as the broad risk-averse tone in Asia underpinned the safe-haven.

COMMODITIES

Oil prices declined overnight amid strength in the greenback with WTI crude futures retreating around USD 0.50/bbl, although remained above the USD 46/bbl level. Gold (-0.1%) prices saw subdued price action as the firmer USD counterbalanced safe-haven inflows into the precious metal, while copper and iron ore traded subdued amid mixed amid broad-based risk-averse sentiment in Asia.

US

Fed Chair Yellen (Chair, Dove) said Fed will revise policy if outlook unexpectedly changes and reiterated a gradual approach to rate hikes. Yellen also stated unintended effects of negative rates must be considered and added will not dismiss negative rates in a very adverse scenario. (BBG)

Fed's George (Hawk, Voter) stated that she favours raising US interest rates in a gradual manor to usual levels and that rates are too low for today's economic conditions. (BBG)

Fed's Rosengren (Neutral, Voter) stated that the Fed should gradually remove accommodation. (BBG)

If you're not bothered by getting this type of news with a 5-mins delay you can get a free feed here.

There's also RANsquawk, owned by the same guys, who run a twitter feed which provides a look-ahead for the day.

xplorer thank you so much for taking the time to give me a hand. That is much appreciated. The site that you informed me about was very close to what I need every morning. what they felt about crude basing and gold's recent run. Also, the news especially with the Central Banks being front and center of any premkt gap or large daily move.

More specifically, I'm looking at a recap from skilled technician on important levels that I may have missed. Patterns forming just not noticed and some opinion even to be use as a contrarian to my work. I'm use to working for a large firm and being inundated with research now on my own, I'm just looking for some insightful streamlined TA on futures.

However, what you sent me was a great start and I appreciate the time you took to reply. I felt no one would bother. As part of a learning process into FOREX maybe I will hit you up in the future.

Thanks again.

Hey no problem. I follow a seasoned Technical Analyst on twitter, her handle is @nictrades and I think she still works for a futures firm that perhaps provides what you're looking for in terms of technical levels.

In my view though it's best to develop a sense for those levels yourself, although I accept that takes time.

Good luck.

I do go after my own levels. However, i noticed after just viewing someone break down the SPY in a technical manner, such as, recent mkt action and what levels to look out for helped my daily work on the ES by confirming what I did see. Also, enlightening me to what I didn't see and to creating the contrarian view in me that gained some confidence. thanks again for the response. I will check out nictrades as well. Have a great week!

Thanks - For the ES in particular I can recommend DionysusToast's daily market prep, posted in this forum. He is the most experienced person I know of on the ES and provides good insight about it.

Just reviewed that thread. That was perfect on the money nothing to sell information that will help me create my own trading decisions based off of solid TA. A valuable find. I hope I can reciprocate one day.
