I am a beginner and I am in search of the best Trading System for a Portfolio or Fund Style Investing. I will be a Swing Trader but want the best system needed to be able to create a diversified portfolio. I am interested in Platform, Data Feed & Brokerage, even is its feasible to utilize more than 1 type of system together and I don't want to be stuck with 1 brokerage which trade commissions may be high and will eat up any profits.
I am interested in a system that is completely automated or as close to completely as possible with minimal to none human input or overrides...
These are some of the possible criteria I am looking at but 100% sold on them but your feedback, suggestions & ideas will help me make a better informed decision...I know there id variety out there because you don't know my strategy but I want your opinion as experienced users these systems. I want something easy to use which can help me create a portfolio to try and help me maintain a specific annual return. If certain stocks in my basket are not good choices to be able wean them out and suggest better ones.
I don't want a system that will be dependent on a bull market for it's success.
I hope you guys can please help me...I am learning.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I hope, you won't find my post rude. But it looks like your trying to find the holy grail everybody is looking for. I really don't know if something like this could exist. I mean, you don't really know how long a good strategy will keep on giving you money. Market changes and it does it sometimes faster than any system, and sometimes a irrational way that machines won't be able to apprehend. So I would advise you to keep on looking for a working system. Invest in, take profits and then look for something else. But there won't be any best system unless you may know market better than a large majority of other traders playing this game and I'm not this one.
By the way, there is plenty of strategy there that seems to work.
Recently, I find the "Outside the Box" system of Iantg, particularly interesting.
First let me say that I am not a day trader, I am a programmer, statistician and mathematician by trade. I started analyzing the futures markets about 10 years ago as more of a hobby / gag just to bust on a friend that though he could predict the market …
I hope it will give you some insightful to guide you where you want to go.
Do not misinterpret my words but what you are looking for is very easy to find and I am not joking. Find a list of good hedge funds see if youcan meet the minimum requirement and if they accept new clients and you will have all what you are looking for.
If you find a way of doing all of that by yourself you are great and in that case you will certainly find investors to fund your findings.
Good luck

I use VectorVest. It's not the holy grail but has some decent built in portfolios. Their automated portfolio management works with TradeKing but they will soon support Tradestation.
Keep in mind that their software leans towards long term investment. I wouldn't classify even as swing trading. Some portfolios hold a position for years.
They do have an add-on tool for people that want to day trade or swing trade stocks called Derby. I tried but it's not my style, and to be honest I didn't like much or used enough to figure out how to make it profitable (I enrolled in a 1 month trial).
Check them out. I like the software and it's a serious company unlike many in this business. Call them and they will give you a 5 weeks trial for $9.95. If you don't like cancel any time (or go to their web site and sign up VectorVest | Stock Analysis and Portfolio Management Software ).
I have my own strategy that I manage manually using ETFs because of taxes and other issues. But I like to use VectorVest to perform searches and build strategies. In the end I could never find anything that beats what I do.
I enjoy participating in the user group meetings as there are several investors that exchange ideas using VV and even other tools/sources. Some user groups are better than others, so I would check the one near your area (again call VV and ask for the one near where you live). It's great to talk in person with people that have been using the software for 5 or 10 years...
I also put a review here on futures.io, search for VectorVest.
